Glad to hear that. It seemed like it could be good, but I haven't seen anything from Blanc. I thought maybe I was just very wrong.

Don't Look Now and A Day in the Country should be on their way to me in a few days from Amazon. I got my travel reimbursement from last week's work training course a lot sooner than expected, so this was my first course of action.

Here's looking forward to two more strong titles in the collection.

I have the set, and while I'm really bad at writing reviews this thing is jam packed! If you're a fan, no hesitation necessary. If you're new to him, at this price point, maybe check out some of his stuff first but it's not a bad blind buy if you're even remotely interested. There is a ton of stuff in it.

Default Collections: Beyond The Films

Hey everybody, i have an idea for a social group and i wanted to see if anyone in these parts is interested in being a part a part of. It only is indirectly related to Criterion, so I'll spoiler the details.

[Show spoiler]
As I've delved deeper into my enjoyment of film, I've started to gather a collection of not only Blu-rays and DVDs, but of other things related to films. Books, posters, lithographs, autographs, personal photos, all kinds of stuff; and I wanted to have a place where people could join and post photos/details of the things in their film collections that go beyond the films themselves. I know i enjoy showing people the things I've come across in my film journey, and I'm also eager to see and learn about what other people have in their collections as well.

This is the first social group that I've started on here, so I'm a total novice at running it. For the moment it's invite only, but eventually I'd at least like it to be viewable to all so everyone can learn about the stuff in everyone's collections. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, send me a pm, and I'll get some invites out to join the group!

I have this exact problem, only my left eye.

I missed nearly a week's worth of postings here... while on vacation in south Florida. Ahhh, nothing better than forgetting that this site exists (just kidding) while lying on the warm white sandy beaches with turquoise waters. Glad I left the laptop at home. Anything big I miss here in the last 6 days? Thanks.

Criterion has been purchased by Universal and all of the discs are soon going OOP.

Oh, you meant Criterion "Music". Yes, that happened back in 2013.

I watched Seconds for the first time yesterday. A very great film, a paranoia classic. And the transfer is stunning. A great disc.

Criterion should complete the "paranoia trilogy" by giving us Seven Days in May.

Don't Look Now just popped through my door, which I'll be double billing with the recently released Bad Timing, from Network in the UK.

I can't wait for the announcements this month. I'm hoping for a Masahiro Shinoda upgrade. I've given up all hope in the UK, so Criterion need to come to the rescue. I also would quite like a silent film. Something like Victor Sjöström's (The Phantom Carriage) The Wind would make a great Criterion pick up for me. Just look at that poster art!

Where did you pick up Don't Look Now? Curious because Amazon's price is $35, looking for an alternative I can trust with shipping to get it here by at least next Friday.

Also, please check back once you've had a watch of Bad Timing. I noticed there is an issue with it in the Network thread and have held off buying it

I'm based in the UK, and used a UK site (Movietyme), which I can't imagine would be any use to you, sorry. I imagine it only came early because they don't need to keep to US street dates.

Yeah, I saw this too. It seems a curious issue that could be distracting, but only a watch will tell I fear.

Thanks for the quick reply.

It seems like it could go either way, if it were one or two instances I probably wouldn't notice it but it seems like it's happening every shot. I've been holding out for more opinions or a review so please check back! This is a great film I'd love to have on bd.
