Probably not, what I'm looking forward to is way less wiring in the back of my EQ!

I think you will hear a difference, not sure how you are running your setup with the analog connections but I think most receivers/processors bypass the DSP's internally with the 7.1 analog in which means you have no room correction and are left with doing bass management on your BD player.

You will have a more advanced bass management and room correction system with your upgrade so I think you will have a good improvement in sound. Enjoy it.

Default not worth it tbh...analogue outputs...

i been testing out the panasonic bd 85 analogue outputs to my yamaha dsp-a1 amp(old 1998 flagship model with 2 split sub outputs!)
i been goin back and forth between the lossless trough analogue and the lossy 1,5K trough my optical connection and decided on goin for the optical...
the reason is mainly that i have 2 subwoofers, each doing the left front and surround, the other doing the right front and surround, and center channel is divided among the 2 of em,this is all done in the digital domain, since the panny player can only do the crossover at 100hz(my speakers respond flat to 80hz)and worst on the analogue is....there is only 1 output(back player) meaning when i was playin "analogue" the bass was "doubled for each channel" making it sort of boomy
i tryd to sort this out at first....but...when i lower db's i also lower the LFE channel unwillingly, and there is no way i can correct this trough the panny,a limitation of analogue again, one cant have everything...
the finetunig in the digital domain is just awesome,my system is well calibrated that way wich i didnt manage on analogue, the sound trough optical is just as good to me as was the analogue connections, but the bass is miles ahead on the lossy 1,5K then with the lossless,it all comes down to calibration and this is still a letdown on BD players,in fact ..not only bd players but also 90% of the surround amps out there,i only know couple of amps that have 2 seperate inputs for subwoofers and also have the ability to configure these!
i'm spoiled with the yamaha and would not ever upgrade to a amp without having those 2 sub...at least..the sound i get with 5.2 set up is just awesome,btw..my setup is kef reference(from 98")+ 2 kef subs, identical ofc to avoid anny problems...

I have been experimenting with my 1.1 hdmi onkyo. And the mod chipped used panny player (region free) I just purchased - with multichannel outs, seems to be taking much stronger audio to the receiver and out to my speakers.

My bass management from receiver is active even with the analog method using "pure audio". This sounds much better to me than using a newer 3D panny with sub.audio hdmi out to the 1.1 onkyo.

Maybe other people have different setups, but for me the satelite speakers dynamic range comes alive with analog. It sounds like nothing is being lost. Its always been lossless but its such a different impact now. I did a comparison using Jurassic park and when Nedry hits the puddle and it "splashes" at camera I hear the splash clearly in the analog setup, and I hear more like a muffle of sound in the hdmi mix.

It kind of sucks that my 3D player doesnt have the multichannels too. Eh. I'll just use the dmp-bd30 for 2D movies for my analog preference.

Well I have a old Pioneer VSX 1015tx (2005 model), OPPO BDP-93,
Klipsch B-3 bookshelf's for front, Klipsch C-3 center, Klipsch S-3 surround's and JBL ES250 subwoofer.

I connect the OPPO 5.1 with the analog outs, and well the HD audio and DVD audio is
superb!!! the subwoofer sound with more low sub-bass frequency, instead the HD audio core with coaxial or optical is more weak and the sub not give the same low sub-bass frequency.

The analog db levels from the OPPO are at 0.0 db (only the surround's are -3.0 db), and in the receiver are all at 0.0 db too, I set all the speakers to large and crossover cut at 80 Hz.

You my not have calibrated properly for digital, which would account for the differences you hear. When you say you've set speakers to large and the crossover to 80Hz, which device are you referring to? With analog, those particular receiver settings have no effect.
