actually it makes perfect sense.
[Show spoiler]If her husband is flipping on someone and testifying against a bunch of people in a criminal case, then there can be no hint of impropriety or conflict of interest at all. He's testifying against these people, and his wife happens to be having a relationship with one of the police who is involved in the case?

In fact if they DIDN'T bring that up, it would have been suspect.

This show has never had good case of the week stories, we always know in the first 5 minutes who the killer is. I was really bummed that they had three fantastic guest stars in tonight's episode and they were all burned off in one episode!?!?!

WTF, I have been a fan of the Quinn family forever, Anthony was a legend and I've been a fan of Frankie's since Platoon and The Shield. The always great Joa**** de Almeida was relegated to the least amount of screen time. Not to mention Patrick St. Espirit fresh off his role on The Chicago Code. I was hoping they were setting these characters up for much larger roles throughout the season, but it didn't feel that way by the end. It's always that way with this show though. The only reason to watch is the Jim and Callie dynamic, everything else is very mediocre.

I don't care too much for the bigger role Manus has been given this season, big fan of Hurd's real life husband Garrett Dillahunt but she's very wooden and doesn't fit into scenes that require her to do more then deliver a quick command to Jim.

They never brought that up as the reason though I believe.
[Show spoiler]All I remember is her saying they aren't allowed to date because her husband just got out of jail and something else.
Nothing about him
[Show spoiler]testifying or anything at a trial.

Yeah they did. They referred to him as
[Show spoiler]a "cooperating witness".

The exact conversation was:

[Show spoiler]Colleen: I got a call from the Office of Professional Responsibility. The Palm County DA has been notified that you are having an inappropriate relationship with the wife of one of their cooperating witnesses.

JIM: What? How do they know?

Colleen: They know, Jim. And now it's everybody's business. Including mine, as your superior.

JIM: We're adults, Colleen, we'll work it out.

Colleen: I know, Jim. Just stay away, okay?

A&E’S HIT SCRIPTED DRAMA ‘THE GLADES’ RETURNS WITH IMPRESSIVE GROWTH IN KEY DEMOS ADULTS 18-49 AND ADULTS 25-54 IN ITS SEASON TWO PREMIERE

EPISODE WATCHED BY A COMBINED 4.4 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS FOR THE NIGHT

NEW YORK, NY – June 6, 2011 – A&E Network’s season two premiere of the hit scripted drama series, “The Glades,” returned last night with tremendous growth in the key adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 demos.

The premiere of the second season garnered 1.4 million viewers in adults 25-54 and 1.2 million in adults 18-49. Versus “The Glades” first season average, the second season premiere posted gains of 20% in adults 18-49 and 8% in adults 25-54, according to Nielsen Fast Nationals.

Garnering critical praise prior to the season launch, “The Glades” delivered 3 million total viewers, and combined with the encore airing, “The Glades” was watched by 4.4 million total viewers for the premiere night of the new season. The premiere episode also grew by nearly 50% among total viewers from its lead-in.

“The Glades,” a character driven police procedural set in the fictional town of Palm Glade, Florida, stars Australian actor Matt Passmore (“McLeod’s Daughters,” “Underbelly”), Kiele Sanchez (“Lost,” “Samantha Who?”), Carlos Gómez (“Shark,” “Sleeper Cell”) and Michelle Hurd (“Law & Order SVU,” “Gossip Girl”).

New episodes of “The Glades” air every Sunday at 10PM ET/PT on A&E.

The Glades has been cancelled. Not sure if anyone besides my wife and I still watched it, seeing as how the last post here was two years ago! But it ended on a hell of a cliffhanger. Sad to see it go, despite all of its flaws.

I thought it was a decent show and I liked the lead role, but each episode felt repeated and there just wasn't an interesting enough background story to keep the show going.
And yes, it ended on a cliffhanger.....leaving one to speculate who did it. We'll never know now.

They tried getting the background story arcs in there, with Ray being in witness protection, the will they won't they with Jim and Kallie (spelling?) but there wasn't enough and it wasn't soon enough. He needed a mortal enemy, instead of just having a bad guy of the week thing.

I'm pretty sure it would be fairly inexpensive for tv studios to produce a tv movie to wrap up shows that they cancel. It would satisfy most people, give closure, and prevent the huge internet backlash that they get. I know people that have stopped watching a network altogether due to the way they treat viewers. The Glades didn't even have bad numbers. I suppose they needed room for a Honey Poo Poo spin off or something...

I only started watching this show through its DVDs this past March after becoming a fan last year of the boy who plays Jeff and to me, this show should still be alive and kicking, what was A&E drinking when they decided to get rid of it???

God bless you and those who brought the characters to life always!!!

Holly

P.S. To me, that lead guy so precious, I love him so much!!!

I loved The Glades and hated the way it ended on a cliffhanger.

Tell me everything that you remember about this remarkable gentleman.

God bless you two and him and his family always!!!

P.S. My most favorite thing about Matt is his being able to keep his Australian accent even after scoring himself an American accent. By the way, how many hours ahead of us here in the states are those on the Australian continent and did they forward their clocks ahead too just like we had to here? I am in the eastern time zone.
