Kinda reminds me of Tomb Raider Legend. Can't wait for a playable demo.

I'm waiting for the inevitable bad reviews it will receive on all of the game sites...

Next week will be loaded with the bad Heavenly Sword reviews (I'll sum up the reviews for you right now: "Why can't it be exactly like God of War?").

Followed shortly by the glowing Halo 3 reviews (Review summary: "It's Halo!").

(Yes, I do sort of think there's something to the theory that most sites are very pro-360 and anti-PS3 for whatever reason.)

Just for the record, I think Lair is a really good game. I think there's something to it being easier for non-hardcore games to adjust to the motion controls. Just from my experience, my nephew who is much more of a gamer than I am couldn't stand the controls and was really bad at the game. I'm not really that hardcore and I had no problems learning the controls or controlling the dragon. Fire up Gears of War on the 360 or Resistance on the PS3 and my nephew will easily make me look completely incompetent.

Maybe that is becuase your nephew wants precise control, which you do not know and why he dislikes the control. I am a huge game, and I bought Lair and it simpy does not have the precise control needed for top level gameplay. I still like the game, and my scale I would of gave it a 6.5 out of 10, due to controls, repetitive gameplay, and lack of online multi-player.

Back to this game now.. I am really anticipating this game.. graphics looks solid, download the couple previews on the PS3 store, has really good animations... and even a JUMP button..

To me that is what Heavenly sword is missing.. how the hell can you not have a jump button.. I know this appears in GRAW2 as well.. still do not understand it.

Maybe the Jump button is missing because in reality, jumping really wouldn't get you very far (literally). Pretty sure the main character in GRAW2 was carrying around quite a load of gear so how far could he really jump? If you're going for cinematic jumps, you're just as welling doing it like Heavenly Sword does and make it a context sensitive option that appears when necessary. Unless you're making a platform jumper (or some derivative), it's pretty unnecessary. Pretty sure Drake's Fortune falls into the category of a platformer derivative (like Tomb Raider) thus it has a Jump button.

Stranglehold lacks a jump button as well (unless you want to count the Dive button), but the demo was a lot of fun if highly unrealistic (Why can't the guy standing right in front of me deliver a fatal shot with his gun?).

I look forward to playing Heavenly Sword, Drake's Fortune and Stranglehold in the near future.

P.S., although you may have something about my nephew better with precise control, I would have thought that his larger game play experience would have at least compensated for much of that. Even on in-game things that required some level of precision (like snatching the beasts off the bridge), I was far better at executing that. I also enjoy the urgency that Lair provided; you simply can't just fly about, you have to engage the enemy and keep up with the battle without much rest (unlike most FPS where you can clear out a room and can just rest for however long you wanted). Lair sort of reminds me of Wing Commander 3 and 4 with it's cinematic nature (and I keep hoping that during some of the cut scenes it will stop and ask me which response I want to give like those games did). I enjoy the story whereas my nephew couldn't give one bit about that.

Definitely getting this, probably importing unless the UK gets it a couple of days later like Heavenly Sword.

That is so true. Look no further than Gamespot's reviews for Oblivion. Oblivion for the 360, 9.6. Oblivion for the PS3, 9.5. Then, look the very first paragraph in the review for the PS3 version:

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is an unequivocal role-playing masterpiece of epic proportions. After strong showings on the PC and Xbox 360, Oblivion is now available for the PlayStation 3, and it's still every bit a fantastic game. That said, if you've already played Oblivion, you won't find much of anything new in this version. The graphics are slightly better, the load times are shorter, and there is a bit of new content in the form of the Knights of the Nine add-on, which is available as a separate purchase on other platforms. However, if you own a PlayStation 3 but haven't played Oblivion yet, this is one game you won't want to miss."

There isn't anything on the ign site at this time. Has that been confirmed as the box art? If not, then take it with a grain of salt at this time.

I love skulls and I love that artwork! First thing it made me think of was the Monkey Island boxart.

Generally boxart mockups don't look nearly as well done as that.

New little screens from the Japanese website. A few may be old but I don't remember every screenshot released.

game looks more refined with eacdh batch of screenshots released. very nice.

and i know at least one of those is definitely new, as the shot with Drake's female companion has been updated showing her new blonde look instead of the past brunette look.

Default "A Mash up Between Gears of War and Tomb Raider "

"Earlier today I had a chance to look at three areas in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and I can say quite fairly that it is coming to look like a stand out title for the Playstation 3 this year. For those that aren't familiar with the game, it comes across playing much like a mash up between Tomb Raider and Gears of War, except it has one thing neither of those do: a rock solid story. That's really what Uncharted is all about."

My hype meter for this title has elevated quite a bit over the last few weeks.

I wanted to add to your message that this game will not and I repeat will not be out on the 360 due to the fact that the ps3 is the only console available that can handle this game.
