If anyone goes to Toys R U today, can you let us know if they stock the Blu-ray case editions of these titles? They only have the DVD case versions listed on their site, but you never know.

Is there a deal at Toys R Us for both movies? Which store has the better deal?

Did anybody else who picked The Lion King 2 notice that the slip was a bit scratched up? I went to 3 different stores in my area and in each one the embossed paws on the border part had the paint ripped off of them. Not that noticeable, but still kind of annoying!

The best thing to do to get these is get them as introductory package selections to the Disney Movie Club, as these are 3rd to 4th tier releases at best.

these two are NO WAY as good as the classic original Lion King IMO

My copy from Amazon is in pristine condition. For a change.

I went to Best Buy and bought both combo packs. However, they didn't even have the $8 off promo that everybody mentioned... Luckily, I had a $15 Best Buy gift card, and I was able to get both movies for $34. Much better than originally paying $50 for both....

Where? I went over to the children's Blu-ray section, and there was nothing there. I even asked one of the employees about the promotion, and she told me that she hadn't heard about it...

The coupons should be stuck on the front of The Lion King 1 1/2 or The Lion King 2, if there are no coupons on either, then something fishy is going on..

It was $37.XX for both with the $8 off coupon through Amazon, not the greatest but yet the cheapest if you wanna save on tax and gas.

With the $8 off coupon buying both stickered in front of TLK '1 1/2', did not see in TLK 2, try using it at Target because the sticker is a manufacturer's and Target is their promotion, so 50-16 = 34, 17 each, not bad...YMMV, i'll try this tomorrow

Went to Toys R Us, Best Buy, and finally Target tonight to get both. Toys R Us didn't have anything other than the DVD case editions (which I expected but wanted to confirm). Best Buy had plenty of copies but there were no $8 off stickers on them and no advertisement to be found (if there ever was). Target had copies of both and I was able to price match Best Buy and still get the $8 off for buying the two together.

My original plan was to buy both to get the $8 off and then sell TLK 1 1/2 on eBay and hopefully recoup what I paid for it, but now I am not so sure. I'm not a big fan of the film but the Disney completest in me is begging me to keep it.

A lot of people are down on these two movies (admittedly I really dislike 1 1/2) but I really love TLK2. I think is the best of the direct to video sequels and better than some of the full release animated movies. Great songs and worthy enough story... I think TLK as great as it was is severely overrated and held in higher esteem than it should be and TLK2 is in turn ignored and written off. As good as TLK, no but worthy in its own right.

Thanks for the Toys R Us confirmation. I figured they would have DVD cases as opposed to the Blu-Ray cases. I'm also glad I wasn't the only one that went to Best Buy and didn't see the $8 off poster. I guess it was just a rumor?

My Best Buy didn't have the promotion in their system when I went in this morning, but after a bit of digging around they did find the aisle sign for it in a pile of ad materials. It's about a foot tall and 4 inches across, is very colorful with several of the characters on it, and states $8 off with the purchase of any two Lion King Blu-ray combo packs.

Really? Damn! That means I have to drive back now to Best Buy and ask them to reimburse me...

That's a shame, I'm sure Disney would be happy to know that they are potentially losing sales at Best Buy because of what seems like a chain-wide oversight.

The only place I ever saw the $8 off stickers was in that unboxing video on YouTube. Target didn't even have the stickers on there, but it was advertised in their sale paper and was automatically discounted when both items were scanned.

I'm fairly new to posting here but I've been looking around here for a while. Hi!
When I went to my Best Buy yesterday to purchase them I asked the girl behind the counter about getting the $8 off and she said "let me check" she checked the computer and said that it only seemed to be an online thing. I didn't argue and I just bought lion king 2 . They were helping me out already by replacing the invisisheild on my iPad and I really like Best Buy so I just didn't feel like arguing with them. Is lion king 1 1/2 really good? I've read mixed reviews on it. I personally really enjoyed the second one but I haven't seen 1 1/2 in quite a while.

I agree. Lots of people may be holding off because they don't know about the $8 off...
And MJW, post some updated pics of your collection! =) I like how it looks and wanna see it with your newest titles!
