Interesting to see that the Panasonic, Pioneer, and Sony players all have the Sigma chip inside...

Maybe October is the time when blu-ray will really start to take off. The player would make a nice birthday gift. I hope that whoever buys it for you doesn't mind spending 1,500.00 for it.

I've never gotten a birthday gift that expensive and I don't expect I will this year either.

This would have to be a self purchased gift.

I'm seeing some interesting talk about firmware upgrades for this unit.

Maybe buying first gen hardware won't be a complete S@#$ outta luck propisition after all...

Yeah thats the best thing about birthdays you can feel free to splurge on yourself and if anyone tries to give you gruff about it you just tell them its your birthday and to shut it.
