I think the UK set is the way to go. I like the US-style sleevebooks, but the extra cost to obtain them is too high. The UK doesn't seem to like that style of packaging; has it had any titles released in those sleeves so far?
Only one I can think of was The World at War;

Was replaced by a digistack set;

I'd never touch either though, due to the cropped picture (4:3 > 16:9).

Plus I like the use of the Universal logo. But who knows, it may end up changing after all.
Especially since it says "Artwork TBC", which I assume means "To Be Changed".

"To Be Confirmed", usually.

I emailed Universal UK to ask them about Spanish Dracula, and just got this response:

Thank you for your e-mail.
I can confirm we will have the Spanish version of Dracula on our disc.

Kind regards

That is great news! Though I would have bought the UK one anyway because of the price difference.

And to join the price discussion, prices will always get lower than the day one price eventually (as long as it's not a ltd product that sells out fast), but I think this set is extremely cheap (in the UK) for a 9 movie set already.

I see that the site listing for this now has different cover art. It now matches the inferior Aussie one!

It's still TBC and the Amazon one is still the other style, so no need to panic yet.

Yeah I live in Australia and I stopped buying local DVDs when they introduced the ratings signs. I emailed the classification board when they first came out and their response was, ah, very bureaucratic.

It helps that our DVDs are also very very expensive .

^ wondering the same thing but really could careless right now with such a huge price difference between the UK/US release. Can always buy this and wait for a good deal on the US release and just sell this one.

Any guesses as to how low this could go? I don't have to have the UK version on day one if I could save some more.

BTW, that Dracula restoration video has really sold me on upgrading from my monster DVDs. In most cases, I've been quite disappointed with the so-called benefits of upgrading to Blu-rays on my setup (VIERA TC-P42ST30) and decided to forego repurchasing what I already have on DVD.

Full specs of the UK set are out at The Digital Fix and it's exactly the same as the US set contents-wise.
