There's no one I won't watch. Even actors I may not care for can turn out great performances. There's no reason to blacklist an actor, you never know what film you might miss because of that.

So much hate in these posts... I would never skip a movie because of an actor. That is childish... A lot of actors I don't like that much but if the movie is great, i'll see it... i'm a movie fan first not an actor fan.

I think in my case its a bit different because they are the vehicle that drives the movies. Sandler and Carrey movies are usually al about them and that character. I'm pretty sure I didn't miss much from the other parts of their movies.

Childish? I'd say that most of us that feel a particular way about an actor is because they always play the same types no real stretches. And in the rare occasion they play something different I'll check it out...like i did.

I don't agree, because Carrey has given plenty of excellent performances that are outside what many associate him with. Just look at things like 'The Truman Show', 'The Majestic', 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', 'Man on the Moon', and even 'The Number 23' (horrible movie...But he's great in it, making it bearable). Sandler I can maybe understand, but even he can do things like 'Funny People', 'Reign Over Me', and 'Spanglish' where he can turn out an excellent performance that isn't a one note joke that he usually does.

It all comes down to, like was said about by Punkeater, I'm a movie fan first. Even if I don't care for an actor, they may turn out a great performance or surprise me in a movie, making me reevaluate that actor's filmography. I just can't see assuming a movie would be bad because of an an actor, or skipping one altogether because of one. That's all just my opinion anyway.

I could understand for people naming Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler since they often play the same type of character but even that. Will Ferrell was great in Everything Must Go... same with Sandler in Reign Over me. I see people listing actors like Tim Robbins, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck...

I would never skip on The Shawshank Redemption because of Robbins
Same with Bourne trilogy for Damon
or Argo, The Town for Ben Affleck... all this as example

I feel some people are really missing on some really great movies because of their hate of a particular actor. Like I said, I'm a movie fan first... Actors playing in a movie is just a bonus for me when I like one in particular but I would never skip a movie because of someone in particular.
