I think it was in the Sekirei Pure Engagement review. If it's not there try the other. It also might have been edited. If so I'll send you a PM with the details of it. I don't want to derail this thread too much.

I'd love to see and contribute to an anime subforum.

Well Guys, evidently there's no official procedure in place for us to get any further than everyone just posting in this thread that they'd like to see it happen, so I highly doubt we'll ever see it get done. The first mention of creating a separate sub-forum for anime in this thread was September of 2009; It's now more than four years later, and how much further have we gotten with it?

Yeah, good luck with this.

Yeah, good luck with this.
As Brett mentioned eariler, someone has to get in contact with Iceman(site developer), and get his thoughts on it. Not sure if Madlost, or someone else did this already, but Step #1 would have to involve him. After that, I'm not sure if there's some sort of "staff vote" that would need to take place, or if the decision lies, solely, with him.
I'll say this again: I don't see the downside to doing something like this(not sure how much work is involved), but from a functionality standpoint, it seems like a good idea. For whatever reason, it seems like anime, over the years, is considered the "red-headed stepchild" of the blu-ray forum. With only a few titles ever managing to get their own threads(Akira most notably).
Hopefully it happens...and if it doesn't, it would be nice to, at least, know why.

Relax Frey. Iceman would have never brought it back up this year if he had no
interest in doing it. In 2009 it was more of an afterthought and to tell you the truth I didn't even know that thread existed until the following events took place:

1) Earlier this year iceman posted in the official thread in the main forum asking us if we were open to the idea. We discussed it in there.

2) A new thread was created in the feedback section with icemans post being the first one and the discussion that we had in the official thread moved over into this new thread with discussions continuing here.

3) Members thoughts were mixed at the time. Some of us supported it and others didn't. This led to a delay as iceman wanted a pretty much unanimous decision from all of us.

4) At some point that thread got merged with the thread that was started in 2009.

5) After I reposted the thread in the main discussion thread we got our pretty much unanimous decision with members that were previously against it saying it was a good idea.

6) Here we are now.

The thing is I'm sure iceman has other things he needs to take care of before dealing with this issue. Somethings go unanswered by him for awhile. It's only been a couple days since I posted the link again so give it a little more time. Don't get your hopes dashed just yet. We still need you on board.

The problem is there is no way for us to get directly in contact with him as he doesn't accept PM's and I can see why as he would be flooded with them. I don't know if a mod maybe Brent could PM him but I've done all I can at this point with spreading the word.

Well ok, I didn't know about all that background you gave, being fairly new to this genre, so that's helpful to know. It's just that I read over the entire thread and saw only 3 posts by iceman in four years, every one stating "maybe we can create a separate sub-forum" and it just seemed like nothing further was accomplished each time - either interest wanes or it's just forgotten about... and if there is no way for us to keep this on the burner with the higher-ups, it'll just be forgotten about or pushed aside again.

Four more years and I may either be dead or completely uninterested in anime anymore...

I've used forum software before. It's pretty much effortless to add new subforums.

I figured as much, but I probably should've clarified that statement a little more with Iceman already having a heavy workload...or something to that effect.
Hopefully he takes notice of this thread(recently gaining traction) and chimes in on it.

OK, so there's a new Anime link in the Blu-ray Movies - North America forum - when did that get added?

Wow - look at all those old anime threads I never even knew existed on here...

One thread that was missed being moved into the Anime sub-forum is the "Bubblegum Crisis Ultimate Edition Blu-ray et Kickstarter Campaign" thread, which is active right now.

There is also an active Official Anime on DVD thread that should probably be included in the Anime forum, even though we're in the blu-ray section, more anime is still releasing on DVD than Blu...

Also, don't know if anyone is adamantly opposed to putting US-made "anime" like Legend of Korra or RWBY threads in the Anime section, there's one or two active threads for Korra...

Just making suggestions.

In my opinion anime is anime regardless of which country it was made in.

Also need to move Royal Space Force: Wings of Honneamise - Rerelease Oct 15 thread to Anime sub-forum. Missed that one - currently active as well.

These threads in the anime sub-forum need moved back to the main forum as they are not anime:

Persepolis - new animated film
Dragonball: Evolution
Spawn HBO Animated series (studio Madhouse were involved with the animation production but it's not generally considered anime)

Also, does it matter if we start threads about DVDs in the sub-forum? I want to get one going about Anime Sols.

Good job everyone for getting the ball rolling on this. Obviously it will take a little getting used to, but now anime can FINALLY breathe a little bit...and not be jammed all into one mega-thread.

Good catches - I didn't look in detail at the list of all the current threads to see those...

I think we would NEED to have/allow Anime on DVD threads in the forum - a lot of newly-licensed series still release only on DVD, and a lot of anime fans are still DVD-only for viewing. The existing Official Anime on DVD thread should probably be a sticky thread as well, and/or a new one started and stickied - I'm also wondering if maybe the current Official Anime on Blu-ray thread should be locked since it is so huge, and a new "Part 2" thread started as a new sticky, so it can be setup to better follow the new format... They did that with the UK Studio Ghibli thread a while back...

Just brainstorming some more...
