Ugh, why couldn't they just use the original poster instead of pumping up the saturation and zooming in too much.

I will be picking up the 3D version, I think with a cover like that it will be lenticular, it's not heavily bordered like the Iron Man 3D.

So the non-3D Blu-ray no longer comes with a DVD or a digital copy?

I'm OK with the DVD removal if the price drops enough but it looks like that may not be the case. I typically sell the DVD from the 3D combo packs (since I'll never use them) which typically knocks $6-$10 off the cost of the movie. $28 without a DVD is too expensive IMO.

Most likely, yes I would say that we will too.

Agreed. I think it looks fantastic too, I hope that this becomes the final cover art.

I actually like the poster for Thor 2 better than Iron Man 3, despite the similarities. For some reason the Thor poster looks like great photoshop, but Iron Man looks like bad photoshop.

It's too bad they cropped and changed the background and coloring of the Thor poster for the blu-ray cover -- It looks like crap now.

And if I'm really going to be nitpicky, there's an uneven space between Natalie Portman's name and Tom Hiddleston's, which means it may not be the final cover.

+ 1 with everything that you are saying. I wouldn't be surprised if they did do this with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, I can even see something similar being done with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 if they decided to go that route.

I like the poster of Thor: The Dark World better than Iron Man 3 too. Honestly, when I look at the poster for Thor 2 I get an epic vibe like some serious **** is going to go down, where as Iron Man 3 while you get the idea a big battle is happening, it doesn't give off that same epicenes that Thor 2 seemed to capture.

I don't have any real issues with the cropped image, though perhaps they will change the BD cover to the original poster art with all the characters on it. That would be awesome, if they did and that became the final cover.

But it's Disney, so it's probably charge more for less.

Been their policy for ages.

I realize of course that it is a Thor movie, but I would love to see a more Loki centric cover option.

pffft, where's Kat Dennings in her B-day suit. I'd take that over Natalie any day of the week
