Disney Disney's Big Hero 6 (2014) Blu-ray 3D [Region Free]

Cant wait to see this next weekend. Too bad we most likely won't see a 3D blu-ray in the US

Isn't this connected to Marvel as well. So it should get a 3D Blu Ray release hopefully

It is connected to Marvel...your right mredman. There is, at least, a possibility we could see a 3D blu release in the states....we shall see.

The Marvel connection is that it's based on a Marvel Comic. However, this is a Disney release, not a Marvel Studios release, so there most likely won't be a domestic 3D-BD release from the Mouse. Best thing to do with Disney as relates to 3D is expect nothing, and if they surprise us it will be that much more pleasant.

Your absolutely right about Disney and there 3D practices.
I realize that it's a Disney release...but since it's based on a Marvel property...thought there may be some loophole that would give Marvel the upper hand in releasing this on 3D blu. Wishful thinking I know.

The trailer looked really good and this is poised to be a smash hit, it has a couple of weeks to dominate until Hunger Games comes out later in the month. It really appears that Disney has no plans to release 3D Blus in the US so this will probably be another one we have to go get from overseas.

Agreed.

The 3D here looks really good; high medium to strong 3D in Big Hero 6 based on the trailer anyway.

I can imagine this as an adventure movie. The robot's voice is something I'll have to get used to though. I haven't read the comic, so I have to see the movie to understand why the robot alien is an air balloon.
EDIT: Nevermind, just saw this is the new trailer, thanks!

The skit with the tape on his arm was comical. The part with the cat, I didn't know what he was saying at first. "Hairy baby". It would have been funnier if they had that scene near the baby's crib but they probably set it up a lot better in the movie for more of a laugh.

The armor suit he wears looks cool, and the villain, they will hopefully show another preview, but he looked like a promising villain.

Loved it. Thought the 3D was ok. My girlfriend thought the 3D was "eh". I hope Disney releases it on Blu-ray 3D.

It would have been more immersive with stronger 3D, agreed.

I got to see Big Hero 6 this last week. The movie was fun. Stereoscopically, there was nice depth and roundness, but the filmmakers didn't attempt to use 3D much as a story-telling tool. There was one nice POV flying sequence, but overall, it was a creatively bland stereo experience, which reminded me of Wreck-It Ralph.

It will most likely get a U.S. Blu-ray 3D since it's associated with Marvel.

This will not get a us 3d release because this is a Disney distribution, not a marvel distribution. The movie is based on a marvel property, but unfortunately it is still a Disney distribution, unlike the avengers which is a marvel distribution. Another import for everybody, so ridiculous.

I don't understand why Disney wouldn't offer this in 3D. They make more money with the up sell, whats the advantage?

Agreed. Good mostly medium 3D in Big Hero 6 for certain, but could have been great along the lines of Madagascar 3 3D.

Unhappy

Big Hero 6 will likely be an import blu ray 3D for the US audiences given Disney's track record lately.

Thumbs up Big Hero 6 3D?

Any word on this. I know the USA is not getting a release but I haven't found anything overseas either and the release is 3 months away.

Also no word of a steelbook or a collector's edition. I love this movie and the 3D was fantastic.

No word on any 3D versions internationally. Mostly due to the fact that it still has to open in a lot of territories including most of Europe.

A poster on another site claims that Big Hero 6 3D will be out in Spring/Summer of 2015. This same poster stated that Frozen 3D was getting a US release in April 2015. Time will tell.

Taiwan may have its 3D/2D BD release on 3/17/2015 (or possibly 4/2/2015 as a DVD listing has that date), according to one listing I found. However Deltamac Taiwan (Disney's Taiwanese distributor) has yet to list it on their website. Still waiting for JSDVD or YesAsia to list it.
