This movie is so-so and combine this with the matte finish...it makes a purchase of the steelbook a no-no for me.

I don't get the hate for matte finishes. Not everything has to be glossy. I think my favorite matte finish steelie is Terrget's Fury. Really goes with the tone of the film.

I agree - matte when used properly works well. Armageddon is a good example of this.

I like a little shine on mine once in a while, but matte is okay for me too. I like both.

I don't categorically hate matte. If this was one hell of a movie, I would have bought the steelbook. A so-so movie with a nice steelbook design and nice finish would've been a "maybe" for me...

Everyone I've talked to says this film starts really strong, but just goes downhill, resulting in not much of a climax and just...ends. I'm choosing not to dive in blindly for this steel unless I stumble upon it for cheap.

Yeah, you're right! The latter half of the film is just okay. I can't justify owning it right now for the listed price. Maybe just a digital copy purchase for me..maybe...

I'll wait and see if one of my friends is going to
[Show spoiler] be dumb enough to
buy this movie and just bum it off them or have a movie night.

I stopped before work and the displays were still empty. I went to another Walmart near my work and picked up the last Steelbook they had.

The matte finish doesn't bother. I did not really notice it.

i'll be picking this up today. i'm sure i will be entertained as i suspend my disbelief at the door. i'm also an audio guy and this movie, john wick and fury all have really good audio (and video) reviews so, i will enjoy it. i also want to support team USA in the steelbook market so, there's that too.

Went out to lunch for a
[Show spoiler]chicken sammy,

And came home with a
[Show spoiler]couple of blu's. That's what we call a productive lunch. Will be watching Drac tonight. You know the Steelbook has improved AQ too.

The Fury matte finish was actually done right though (that was high quality matte). If it was similar high quality matte on this one I would've already had it in my hands, but I think it would've been nice to been glossy or at least spot-gloss.

Fury sounded excellent on my set-up and I'm looking forward to watching John Wick this weekend. I may have to grab a copy of Dracula since you said it's received good audio reviews.

The problem with the ending though is the last minute decision to ditch where they were headed, and go with a time jump so that Untold can now fit into the upcoming UniversalMonsters Cinematic Universe.
