Anyone think that, instead of starting all over again with a.... Super Platinum Diamond Edition line or whatever the next one will be called, they may just continue putting more classics on Diamond Edition after Pinocchio next year? I mean, save for the first two, all Diamond Editions already come with digital copies, and I highly, highly doubt that Disney sees there will be a market for 4K releases by the end of next year (if there ever is, at all). And we all know Disney is in no way going to stop milking their properties with new, shiny releases.

There are plenty of other Disney classics I would love to see receive the Diamond Edition treatment, and I doubt I'm in the minority.

I think we're probably going to get The Infinity Gauntlet editions next.

I would think they would have to offer 4K for future vault releases to justify me buying them again, and I probably wouldn't buy most of them again, anyway. I do wish I had picked up Pinocchio during it's run tho!

I'm just hoping that they already had converted it back in 2012 and will therefore release it like Mermaid. But then again, they would've likely released Frozen 3D by now.

Well Pinocchio is coming in Spring 2016 (most likely).

Look how well that turned out. They disassembled The Little Mermaid in order to convert it into 3D. When they put the movie back together, they messed up the editing and replaced the 2D discs. They never replaced the 3D discs, though.

That's good. I don't need to hunt the Platinum then.

I think Colors are already outstanding with 8 bit... 10 bit colors would require a better screen technology IMO like OLED

Coming from a video and photography background, 8 bit is crap.

They are already getting improvements with Quantum Dots and things like that. OLED is still way too expensive to manufacture in great quantity and has its own set of issues that must be overcome (great black levels, but there are other problems created in the process).

Just out of curiosity, where do those versions exist? VHS?

I would love this so much.

I would be fine never having a 3d release of anything else but to have 3/4 of the big four in 3d and not this would be so heartbreaking. Especially since this was and is still quite possibly my favourite movie ever.

It was removed as far back as the original VHS and laserdisc releases...the only way to hear the unaltered lyrics are on the soundtrack album.

Can't wait to own this one! Also hoping for a double feature of the sequels.

Hoping for the same. I know they aren't as good as the first but I loved the sequels.

Unfortunately I really doubt they would be released in their original 4:3 AR.

"King of Thieves" got a 1080p-HDTV broadcast, which looked great (though a bit dirty in parts, as it was sourced from film)... unfortunately it was in 16:9 and some shots were cropped terribly, including half heads and stuff like that.

And all HDTV broadcasts I've seen of "Return of Jafar" were cropped to 16:9 as well and only in artifact-ridden 720p.

I really hope there's something better planned for these titles.
