I will have had this thing preordered for 6 months when I finally have it in my hands...assuming no more delays.

Yeah, I ordered my copy from Amazon on May 4th. But if the final product is worth it, and it looks like it will be, I can totally deal with the wait. Same goes for The Mutilator. It looks like Arrow is really going the extra mile on both these titles.

![]() As far as the issues with Amazon go, I'm glad to see Arrow giving props to Diabolik, as they are a great site. With that said, I did still order the Battles box set from Amazon, due to the price drop, along with the number of gift cards I've got stocked up. I'm hoping for a short wait, but I also remember how long it took to get the Black Cats box... |

I initially held back on Blood Rage, because, as much as I like slasher cinema from the early 1980s, I do have boundaries. For some reason, I associated Blood Rage with the overly mean-spirited and jarring slasher films, like The Last House on the Left (1972) or Nightmare (1981), that I don't quite relate to enough to have in my collection.
I changed my mind, however, when I watched the first few scenes of Blood Rage by way of the full-length YouTube video. The film has a superb music soundtrack, and it's got a few carefree 1980s innocence tendencies that are present in the slasher films that I enjoy most. The gore scenes are a little much for my tastes, personally, but the film looks riveting and fun enough for me to own. So, I ordered Blood Rage from Deep Discount a couple of days ago, along with the Arrow Blu-ray of Contamination. (Contamination is a stupid flick in so many ways, but it's also an otherworldly slice of 1980s fun. I'm looking forward to seeing it in high definition after watching the abysmal transfers from the Mill Creek 50-Pack DVD sets.) |

Even by Arrow's standards, Blood Rage is BEAUTIFULLY packaged. The film also looks great. Just so I understand how they've done it then, the Rage bluray is uncut, the woods bluray is cut but with some different scenes from the original and then the DVD has smashed the two versions together?

More or less, yeah. Both the Blood Rage and Nightmare In Shadow Woods versions have some footage the other one is missing. So they're essentially both cut. And then the third version, created new for this Arrow release, combines all the footage from both of them for an uncut hybrid version (although someone in another thread is reporting that one scene from Shadow Woods, for some reason, didn't make the hybrid cut).

the gore/killings were the stand out for me , and PQ was better than expected and really enjoyed the soundtrack too Disc 1 BD and Disc 3 DVD are the same and have Blood Rage home video version UnRated and Uncut 82m13s title used is Slasher (note : Blood rage title is used in alternative VHS opening in extras only) there's 4 extras approx 10m each with dir and cast and few other short extras so approx 1hr extras along with audio commentary by director, co-owner and arrow employee Disc 2 has Nightmare at Shadow Woods theatrical rated re-cut 79m27 which has scenes not in Blood Rage version, but is missing gore/death scenes special features on disc 2 has 26m of silent out takes and the Composite cut/Slasher version uses Slasher title 85m8s which combines most of footage from both versions (but there is still a least one scene missing and at least 2 extensions to scenes missing from NASW, the quality of the scenes missing isn't as good so this is possible why they weren't included, also there is no gore missing, scene missing is brief nudity of girl in shower) reading the back of cover Arrow says Composite Cut combining footage from both versions so they never said it was combining all of the footage I suppose |
