Really tired of dealing with 3D releases from WB.

You either take the risk of preordering, and getting charged $48, or wait for a price drop for it to be impossible to find.

I hope so. I can deal with 5.1 audio only on the 3D and no slipcover, but if they go as cheap as to drop the regular Blu as well (I'm guessing them assuming we can just use the digital copy for 2D viewing and special features- the same stunt Disney pulled with Oz) I think I'll pass on these releases, a total shame as WB is pretty much the only 3D Blu supporter left in America.

I'll wait to see how this actually shakes out. I want 3D Blu-ray discs, but when it comes down to dropping the 2D disc...that's where I'll draw the line.

The actual WB shop shows it has the 2D disc included.

The reason why I like to preorder from Amazon is because they dont charge you til ship date. Most places charge you right away, sometimes ppl dont have the funds at that time but will on the day.

Been a while since I preordered from BestBuy but dont they charge you right away?

If so, they yes they a temp or preauth at time of order.
Ohhhh right the temp auth charge is what they do, thx for the reminder.

Worse - Best Buy taps your card immediately for a pre-authorization of the full amount, then does it again randomly on and off until it's released. So you need that amount in your account at all times to cover the fact they constantly run pre-athorizations repeatedly. It's deplorable. Sure they lift in a few days, but they do it over and over to make sure you still have the amount available, which can overdraw your account and cause much grief if you tend to let your account run low regularly.

I have this preordered through amazon UK. Should I cancel that and for with BB? Seems to be a lot of doubt in here about this release.

That’s what I did although I didn’t realize Best Buy charges you immediately as a pre-authorization. Probably best not to use a card that’s within $30-40 of it’s limit

Love that BB usually gets me my preorder the weekend before its release day.

It's listed as a Warner Archive item so I don't think there's a reason to doubt it's coming out. Since the UK release date is later, you could wait and see if BBY ships then cancel the UK item if you'd like (or of course cancel and reorder at AmazonUK later) since it likely won't come out until August at least given the recent spacings
Doubt as in the 2D coming with it and slip covers and all that has been discussed. BB shows a release of July 17th. My other doubt about this is the digital code with the UK release since flixster is no longer for the US I have no way of using the code to redeem.

It’s a REALLY big deal when you have pre-ordered 10-15 movies several months in advance. I once had Best Buy hit me with a “pre-authorization” of $500 when several movies still didn’t have a release date and a few others that had release dates of 3 months in the future. I should have had $470 of available credit but but these “pre-Authorization” charges suddenly gave my CC an available balance of $0 so my electricity bill payment was declined and I was hit with NSF fees.

I pre-order that way through Amazon all of the time and have never had a problem budgeting my account down to the dollar. As Best Buy started getting more and more exclusives and I was forced to shop there I finally just got a Best Buy Store card that is only used for pre-orders so it is no longer a problem. For those on a limited budget it’s a major deal that Best Buy doesn’t make obvious from the website.

Yikes, this is still up to $48 on Amazon! Any idea if it will drop? Only a few days away. Liked the movie, didn't like it enough to spend $50!

Watched Rampage last night on Vudu. Excellent. What can I say? I never expected the picture to be as good as it is. Streaming has come a long way. Bright, great colors, no crosstalk, etc, and 3d is top rate. Just a wonderful experience. Should be interesting to compare with blu ray, although I will now wait until these two get cheap as I no longer need them technically. Probably get them on Black Friday when they are $9.99 now. Although knowing me I won't be able to wait to compare!

Don't get me wrong. Blu ray is and always will be the KING when it comes to 3d. NOTHING will ever replace it, but VUDU is a nice substitute when you just can't wait 2 to 3 weeks to see something you are dying to see. I saw these at the IMAX theater and was frankly underwhelmed. It was not the movies; it was the viewing system that let me down.

And got Toy Story Toons: Small Fry while I was at it. Very nice picture as well. Great 3d.

I canceled my $45 Amazon preorder since the price shows no signs of budging (and is actually higher now) so that I could free up some GC funds being held by said preorder and purchased this one instead: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I hope Amazon doesn't cancel this entry, as the preorder situation is analog to that of RPO.

PS. I found this entry by using the inverse of the ASIN to UPC tool: http://www.asinlab.com/upc-to-asin/ (I entered the UPC from Bull Moose, 888574678234, to locate it).
