I must admit that I don't really understand the appeal of paying $30-$40 for a blu-ray when it's always going to be available on Netflix. Unlike other shows such as Twin Peaks and Breaking Bad, it will never go away as long as Netflix is in business.

Is the PQ really that much better on blu-ray?

And there are no special features.

So no matter how much I like the show, I'll be content to stream it on any future viewings.

...this represents an exception to my fervent preference for physical media.
I agree with things like Stranger Things; I do not need to pay 30-40 bucks for something I can have access to for 10 dollars.

But as for quality, I prefer the locked in video vs a constantly buffering service as well as having a lack of special features. I do not have the MOST expensive internet there is and sometimes the quality on streaming services dips.

Unless you don't subscribe to Netflix streaming. I don't, so I ended up buying STRANGER THINGS, watched it, thought it was only OK and nothing I would ever watch again, so I sold it and almost broke even. Maybe like a $1-$2 rental.

There are some Netflix exclusives like the Cloverfield sequel that dropped yesterday that I would like to see, but I guess I won't anytime soon unless there's a physical release. I simply have an aversion to streaming when I have hundreds of unwatched physical discs laying around still.

And for checking out recent films that I most likely would never want to buy, I still subscribe to the 1-DVD out at a time Netflix plan. Netflix still gets in physical copies of most of the current mini/major films from all the studios since they don't have to have streaming rights contracts that way.
