First was better than the 2nd, but it's still watchable for Lily James. |

Geez, the Mexico plant is really putting my 4K player to the test. I got this from Gruv as part of their 2 for $22 sale and my copy had a couple of visible scratches. I just finished watching the movie and thankfully, it played flawlessly. I’m surprised I had no issues given how sensitive UHD players are to scratches.
By the way, the picture quality on this disc is beautiful looking! Very colorful!! Last edited by MrHT; 05-04-2024 at 10:55 PM. |

I had a disc skip that looked fine so I requested a replacement and that disc was in worse shape with scratches BUT it did not skip. You never know how a scratch will affect playback which is why I do not let them go ignored. |

But yeah, I had to exchange a BD once from GRUV before and that disc didn't have scratches. But it skipped. It took almost a month for them to replace it because they took forever to respond to my email, and I had to ship the BD first before they mailed a replacement. When I finally got a replacement, the new disc had MORE scratches but ironically, did not skip. I think a lot of it has to do with the angle & depth of the scratch. Sometimes a scratch can look really visible, but it's not that deep and not an angle that will trip up the player. That's my guess. |

"DVD" has zone coding stated in numbers 0-5 I think, not letters like per your question. BD (blurays) has zone coding stated in letters A, B, C. 4K UHD discs are meant to be region free although there are some rare exceptions. If you were asking about the bluray, I have NOT tested it myself but according to "someone" on this site the US disc is region free so it should play in any bluray player. A DVD is a completely different matter and I couldn't tell whether it is region locked or not. |

I meant the DVD. Didn’t realise it used to be even more complicated back then. So the question is ‘has anyone successfully played the DVD in a Region 2 player?’
Which of course in most cases will be the same device as their region B blu-ray player |

By the way, that is the correct question. For your info I am in Australia region B for BD and 4 for DVD. In short, more often than not, if I buy a dual edition from the UK. On a standard player I can play the Bluray but the DVD won't play, Similar inconsistencies happen with many other countries in different combinations. This will serve as a bump up, I hope someone can answer your question. |
