I've only ever seen the First Blood which I love, but weirdly, have never owned. Having never seen any of the others i'll wait for some more info to surface before cracking open the wallet.

The 4th movie with an Atmos mix just might be a thing of beauty. I haven't seen that film in a few years but I remember the original sound mix being pretty damn killer as it was.

They are all classics in my book. 1 is a great movie, 2&3 are perfect unapologetic 80’s cheese that broke the mood for action. And 4’s violence turned up to 11 is awesome.

Now if we can just get Commando, Robocop, Predator, and Total Recall, I can complete my UHD collection of action films I was way too young to see in the '80s but still managed to watch about 1000 times anyways.

Total Recall is one of my most wanted UHDs. And Predator. And The Terminator.

I'm impressed that you managed to see the 1990 film Total Recall in the 80s

Ha. The 80's didn't officially end for me until 1991. In my timeline, Terminator 2 and Nirvana's "Nevermind" were what finally sent the 80's packing.

I'd say the opposite, they're 100% behind it with their constant usage of Dolby Vision & Atmos, 100GB discs AND putting all the extras on the 4K disc, along with a good flow of catalogue titles in general. They had some mastering issues early doors, no doubt, and they've since segued into bizarre practices like using 35mm filmouts (which aren't in the best of shape) for transfer rather than the DI which those filmouts originated from, BUT their heart is very much in the right place IMO. And you cannot blame them for T2 in any way, shape or form because that was Cameron's/StudioCanal's doing.

Still say waiting for reviews would be the smart thing to do for Lionsgate releases, particularly with deep catalog titles. You say they've had mastering issues "early doors" - UHDs are, what, a couple of years old? It's still early and the majority of studios that are supporting UHD are releasing great-looking discs in general, not just maxing out bitrates and porting over extras. And Cameron was behind the T2 debacle? Doesn't bode well for The Abyss/True Lies

Meh, of all the LG titles I own I will always opt for the UHD, that includes Termawax2.

Which titles did Lionsgate do this on?

No-one's immune to problems. Look at the DNR on Warners' Batman Begins, and the filtering on their BR2049. Paramount's Star Trek has some very weird flattening of grey tones and some horrible artefacting. Fox's ID4 also has some compression problems, along with the skies in other discs like Miss Peregrine's and First Class. But you don't see me writing off every disc they've all done. And as far as compression is concerned are you saying that you wouldn't prefer a 100GB presentation of x movie with minimal extra audio tracks versus a 66GB stuffed to the gunwales with foreign audio? I'd take the former any day of the week, and twice on Sundays. But that's just me.

IMO Lionsgate have genuinely tried to "go the extra mile" when it comes to these weird filmout transfers (Dredd, Lincoln Lawyer, Yuma, Kick-Ass) as it costs MORE money to work up a new transfer from scratch rather than simply harvesting it from the DI. It was a novel approach but one that didn't quite work out, so as long as they don't keep doing it then I'm happy to get behind their work as it ticks all the boxes. If, after all the boxes have been ticked and the 100GB has been filled up, the AV quality of the content itself isn't quite enough to blow people's skirts up then that's entirely on the film and not on the distributor. Hell, you only have to look at the reaction to the Last Jedi UHD to see that even the mightiest of franchises and studios can fall foul of such perceptions.

I like Lionsgate because they had lots and lots of UHD movies for $10 for Best Buy's Black Friday sale.

T2 was totally the fault of Studio Canal. There are a few stellar titles like Sicario and Hell or High Water. They do pretty decent Atmos tracks.

I think with him being preoccupied with all this damn Avatar BS, he was only interested in the 3D version and never signed off on any other version. The disc even says straight out that the UHD Blu-ray is using the master file created for the 3D version. Studio Canal was too lazy to even delete the tag made for the 3D Blu-ray.

MAME is arcade heaven.

Also, for fans of pinball, look into "Future Pinball" and "Virtual Pinball".

Sometimes I play more MAME than on any of the current gen consoles.

Arcade gaming 1986-1994 is my personal golden age of video games.

Ofcourse I know MAME, would't know what to do without it.

I was referring to arcade games like this Rambo shooter and other more recent ones like the new House Of The Dead for example. I don't think MAME will be able to emulate these.
