I don't think it's a spoiler anymore, but now that we know Emilia Clarke is a
[Show spoiler]Skrull, wonder if we see her in the makeup?

And I do hope I’m proven wrong before I get quarter into saying it, but I’m just burnt out on the effort following these empty calorie strands and I’m not buying into the whole “ooh, finally mature” that everyone else has got doe-eyed over.
This is my feeling on almost all the D+ Marvel/Star Wars shows. In marketing blurbs they always say something like "The longer format lets us dig deeper into the characters/tell deeper stories" but then you watch them and with few exceptions it's the exact same type of story with the same amount of character development, it's just 2-4 times as long. Hawkeye was barely more complex a story than Iron Man but for some reason it was almost 6 hours long.

Mini-rant aside, I too hope it's good, and while Marvel has lost its footing lately I'm not completely off the train yet. I'll watch it once all episodes have released.

I hope we get some good War Machine action. This supposedly sets up Armor Wars, so something's gotta be happening with War Machine, beyond the mundane cameos we've seen thus far.

One rumor going around is
[Show spoiler]he's been a Skrull since Civil War. I think it'd make for an interesting arc in Armor Wars as we see the real Rhodes deal with his identity being taken all those years as well as dealing with the aftermath of Secret Invasion.

[Show spoiler]If that is true that means Rhodey never signed the Accords.

I'm not subscribing to see it, but I hope Disney will release this on physical media someday. I think more people are like me, who want to own it instead of relying on whether the studios choose to offer it at one point, and then remove it later.

Why not watch it and enjoy it? That should be the first goal, to enjoy the content. Then if it's available to buy later it's a happy bonus.

So what do you with broadcast and cable shows? True Lies on CBS is canned so that show is going in the vault, pretty sure no disc. Fantasy Island (2022) did not get physical releases and again, canned and stuck on Tubi/Hulu. Even some HBO, Starz, Cinemax, and Showtime cancelled/ended shows did not get physical releases.

And the argument for physical media for streaming shows is invalid to me after seeing Target being inundated with copies of Stranger Things Season 1 & 2. Those damn things did not even sell out after hitting clearance at $5 or lower.

I just don't see things that way. If I own a physical copy of something, there's no way the studio can take it back, unless they were to somehow break into my home. So having a physical copy of what I like to watch is a matter of security, along with preference.

But you haven’t watched it yet… so how do you know you like it?

I mean you said this before:

I don’t know anyone who willingly blind buys a TV show. That’s a huge time and cost investment even with just six or eight episodes. I have a copy of 12 Monkeys Season One I bought for a $1 and I haven’t watched any of it. Same for my cooy of Freaks and Geeks. I’ve seen neither of these shows before getting the discs.

On the fliipside: I enjoyed and rewatched Futurama, Warehouse 13, and Pushing Daisies so I own some or all of these on DVD or Blu-ray.

Now that's some expert reasoning, right there. Its akin to "Why don't you lay down in front of a speeding truck? How will you know you don't like it first?"

Clearly, you don't have to experience everything first-hand. My enthusiasm for Secret Invasion is based in my liking for most of Marvel's stuff so far, and for Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

There is a difference between something that can harm you and can not harm you. I would never ask someone who says they are allergic to shellfish to try prawn just to see. But I would ask them what they think of this Taylor Swift song I’m listening to.

It is obvious you are just using bias to justify unreasonable thoughts.

I was purposely using an extreme example to make a milder point. I haven't seen any of the Marvel TV shows yet, aside from Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter. But I do have most of their movies on Blu-Ray so far, and I enjoy them on a regular basis. I just want to know I can watch them whenever I want, without the studio ripping it away on a whim, after I've already paid for it. That's why I'm sticking with physical media, until it dies.
