No they're not and they shouldn't be. Htz is the refresh rate of the display. FPS is how many images per second the source device is sending to the display.

Was able to watch some of the opening gameplay for the first mission trying to follow a character, and it looks potentially good.

I understand why it's important to be introduced to the game map with missions, though I always appreciate the option to just start exploring immediately and figure it out on my own.

Am glad I skipped this.

1080p/60 just doesn’t do it. Neither does a countdown timer.

A countdown timer, like in Dead Rising 1, where you only had 72 micro hours to complete the game? Which was not good even though I liked the game. But yeah, not fun being rushed if that's true of this game too.

I wasn't able to find anything about a countdown time in the reviews. They skipped over details like that.

The timer is only at night or in darkness and there are ways to extend it. It's not a big deal.

Yeah the timer isn’t a random timer for no reason. There are safe areas to go to. Think they call them UV areas. Am not sure exactly how long the timer runs. One video I saw hinted at 10:00.

I watched a bit more of DF’s video. Performance apparently runs very good at a solid 60. However that cut in resolution down to 1080..

29 hours in since Friday morning (snowed in all weekend). I think this is pretty good. You get a lot of ways to deal with the night timer to the point that it becomes a non-factor. Same thing with weapons breaking, stamina meters, and all the little things you have to manage. When you start leveling up it really feels like you're leveling up and gaining important abilities.

The combat I'm still not the best at. I miss those parry's all the time. You can run away and just dropkick dudes from high places or dropkick them from the top of buildings if you start getting overwhelmed. They put it a lot of combat options and playstyles to suit whatever you're good at.

The story is decent. Typical zombie fare with a central mystery. I'm interested to see how it ends so that's good.

I see, thanks for the info relating to UV areas.

Thankfully the game still offers 4K resolution to experience it in, but for a game requiring fast movements, the 60 fps 2K mode would be the preference. Maybe they'll eventually add a semi-4K 60fps mode like Spider-Man Miles did months later.

Anyone get the finger gun blueprint yet ?

The process looks a little tough to get into the developer room where it's located.

I decided to go ahead and pick up Dying Light 2. Man I'm glad I did. I've already gotten maybe 8 hours in and it's a lot of fun. Took me a while to get used to L1 being the jump button but after that, I'm flying over rooftops with ease.

Can't say much about the story yet. I've only done a couple of missions. Been goofing off doing random side quests and exploring buildings around the map. So far the missions haven't been that bad. They've also had a good variety. I had a fetch quest, had to go talk to a guy, had to warn a guy about something he had, explored a building, turned on some electricity, ext.

The combat is smooth. I do find myself slashing aimlessly when I get in a group. Stealth attacks are fun. A couple of buildings I've gone into I tried to stealth kill everyone for the fun of it. The parkour is fun from the start but gets even better after an upgrade or 2.

Deaths aren't all that bad. So far it's put me at the closest safe house.

Nighttime is really fun. I've had a few scares as I'm running and run into a zombie. It gets pretty intense when you're being chased by a group though. The night timer isn't really a big deal. I've explored several buildings and haven't really ran into any issues, yet.

As for visuals. I'm not a graphics snob. The game looks fine to me.

I've seen a couple random glitches but nothing crazy. Stuff like a zombie was stuck in a truck, a box I couldn't get open without having to squat and get lined up in front of it.

I read that the developer room is near the end of the game. I'm nowhere near there.

I also just started last night. what an addicting game just like the first one. I absolutely love the freedom of Parkour and escaping zombies. Nighttime is still scary as hell.

Of course the main story blows but I just hit the skip button and do main quests after a few side missions. Same old formula as Far Cry, Fallout but I loved aspects of those games so to include that style is fun because I was always a melee build kinda guy anyways.

Not quite as polished of survival game as Last of Us of course but still pretty dam fun and solid. Only 1 glitch so far where an NPC face turned from Peach to blue then back to peach lol.

I'm up to maybe 16 hours. Still having a blast. Have had a few more random glitches but nothing crazy. I did have a cutscene come up with no audio and the text would just flash on the screen. So I had no idea what was going on for that quest. Supposedly their aware and working on a fix for that.

Have heard similar sentiments regarding the story.

Which is too bad. Game might be fun with friends to do mindless zombie hunts.

37 hours in. I'm addicted. The story is good. I'm enjoying it and want to see where it goes.

The gameplay is amazing. You get a grapple hook that you can upgrade and swing around like Spider-Man or shoot it at enemies and pull the towards you like Scorpion. If you upgrade the combat tree you can get a head crush so zombies flying towards you and jumping up like super mario and crashing down on their skulls.

Also there's a secret dev room that gives you a charm you can keep using to give you unlimited durability so if you got a weapon you really like you'll never lose it. Gotta find your way there though.

I can't wait to keep playing. Climbing tall buildings and swinging around then paragliding away into the distance towards your next goal is just....pitch perfect. It's so good. I'll say it takes awhile to upgrade your stamina and skill tree, but that also leads to a real sense of progression. My character is so much more capable than even 10 hours ago let alone at the beginning.

That's cool. The stamina meter is probably much stronger to allow for longer glides and climbing too I bet.

Took plunge. Everybody has their own opinion about story. Hopefully combat & parkour is alright as well as 60.

It’s R1 for my game to jump. Anyway, a nice change.

Only a few minor issues.
- Audio in Skill Trees cut out.
- Screen very rarely randomly flickers. (Almost like your character is blinking)

Didn’t even think about difficulty options. Am playing it on Smooth Sailing Mode.

I haven’t tried Resolution or 1800p mode yet because that may upset me because of the CAP. Have to say the graphics are good despite 1080p which is nice & also what is nice is the game is SDR. In areas with lots of vegetation, the game can look blurry even in 60.

So far, not so bad. Parkour will take some time getting used to again & am getting used to the sensitivity curve. Finding 13 to be the lucky number.

Kinda boring game.

Though probably because everything looks the same. There really isn’t any sense of where you are. The compass doesn’t help.

2 of my friends gambled & already seems like they bailed.

I am not quite there yet. I wanna finish the main story before reserving full hammer of justice.
