Cool looking steelbook. Will have to preorder that one. But did it have to be September? My wallet will be in tears.

I'll go with the slipcover to match Split and Glass on the shelf.

Day 1.

With the release of "Old". They should do a 4K release of all M Night movies on 4K.
The Sixth Sense will be extremely popular, esp if it gets a steelbook.
The Village has never been on blu ray, the cinematography alone is worth the price.
Signs would also be a popular release.

I'd buy em all!

Doesn't seem to be in this thread, but I remember reading something about why - of all titles - Unbreakable would be one they would release first. Anyone know why?

Speed and Heat were already ready from Fox, but Unbreakable will be the first catalogue title they are releasing which isn't part of their current "brand" (Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Disney animation & the live action remakes). Well, there was the Prestige but that was part of the Nolan set.

Wonder what will influence what we get on 4K UHD.

Unbreakable had a 4K transfer prepped by M. Night prior to Glass coming out, and that itself is a reason for doing a UHD I think: dat franchise. Kinda surprised there’s not been a [whatever it’s called] trilogy set for all three films but the rights are slightly snagged. Disnee have the first one, Universal the second, and they shared distribution of the third one (Uni at home, Disnee abroad) so each studio would have to license the third film from the other in their respective trilogy sets. Or maybe they were all waiting on the remastered Unbreakable and a trilogy set will follow?

I sincerely hope they’ve remastered the Blu from the new transfer for this set though as the current one is so creaky it belongs in an old folk’s home.

Dat steenbok looks great, shirley it’ll be a zavvi exclusive for the UK

Hopefully this translates to M. Night's catalog on UHD.

People always say this whenever x director gets a catalogue UHD but, as with most directors, they made movies for various studios so one isn’t necessarily going to open the floodgates. That said, Disnee have Sixth Sense and Signs so if Unbreakable does well then it could lead to them at least.

Disney owns Signs, The Sixth Sense and The Village, I believe. Give them to us!
Does anyone want Lady In The Water or The Happening in 4K?

Personally I’d be just as thrilled, if not moreso, with Disney doing a 4K set of Night’s first five films. After that I lost interest anyway.

So happy that the artwork actually represents the movie! Such a nice touch that the reverse images and colors reflect the opposite and duality motifs that are the backbone of the film.

I'd buy Lady in the Water for cheap, but they can keep The Happening.

Agreed! I was immensely disappointed recently in the artwork for the Scott Pilgrim steelbook. Felt like it was designed by someone who had never seen the movie, I mean they just used a generic electric guitar on the back, when I can’t even remember any standard electric guitars in the film getting any screentime. The main guitars used are Scott’s iconic bass, Steven’s acoustic, and Todd’s bass. Anyways, sorry, this isn’t the Scott Pilgrim forum. Yes, I love the steelbook artwork for this film, feels very fitting and also looks great!

Yep, with Paramount starting to clear their catalogue, now Disney have 5/10 (Three Men and a Baby, Cheaper by the Dozen, 101 Dalmatians, The Village & Dr. Dolittle 2) of the highest grossing films yet to appear on Blu. Sony has 3 (Something's Gotta Give, Fun with Dick and Jane, Daddy Day Care) and Paramount 2 (First Wives Club, Rugrats Movie) . In fact only 10 films that grossed $100m+ have yet to appear with an additional 4 available in other countries only (What Women Want, True Lies, Borat & Double Jeopardy).

Makes you wonder why Disney is not doing 101 Dalmatians for Cruella.

If they released The Happening with the Rifftrax commentary track included I definitely would.
