Well my replacement came and it's the same story as the last copy, but worse. Walmart has the worst stock when it comes to steelbooks. Not only that, but the packaging was similar to Target where they don't seal it up. So it could've fell out any time.

That's a bummer. I ordered a replacement copy of the lenticular exclusive as well. Surprisingly, it shipped yesterday, but it says it won't arrive until next Thursday. It was also sent from the opposite side of the US, much further than my first damaged steelbook. Now I am nervous because FedEx will have more time to damage it. haha

By the way, do you know how returns work at Walmart? Am I able to just bring my damaged copy to a Walmart store, return it there, and get a refund on the spot? Or do I have to bring it to the store, wait for the store to ship it back to their facility once I return it, and then receive a refund?

when doing my return, i was able to pick drop off at FedEx store if you have one near you. The Walmart stores near me are much further away than a FedEx store

They processed a return to nearest Walmart for me so I'm returning my replacement today to Walmart.

I just contact chat support and they helped me set up a return to the store instead of shipping it back to FedEx. Walmart chat is weird by the way, I bought Nope 4K from them for the slipcover, but I wasn't satisfied with how it felt cause the original slipcover has embossed title so I wanted to return it. I don't know how to operate Walmart's return site for instore return so I chat with them so they could help me and this person just straights up refund me telling me I don't need to return it, weird.

I really don't think the Walmart process would be that complicated.

Just take the item you want to return with the receipt to the store. You could have done that in less time than asking about it here lol.

Well I just got back from the store and they said they can’t take the return cause it’s opened and third party which is weird it wouldn’t scan cause this is shipped and sold by Walmart. So now I just have to ship it back I guess.

Mines came in yesterday in a manila envelope, everything was mint except for a scratch in bottom left corner. But I’m happy with my first steelbook from Walmart.

That sucks to hear, but I appreciate the info. I guess I'll have to go through that as well. It's strange how their own store can't process the refund when it's sold and shipped by Walmart. This would all be alleviated if their stores actually carried their own exclusive to begin with.

I chat with Walmart.com customer service again and they gave me a prepaid label to ship it back to FedEx.

This is at $24.99 now. I really want it but seeing people receiving damaged steels from Walmart is making me hesitant. I don't think I've ever ordered a steel from Walmart.

The damage is mainly a result of the flimsy "ravioli" mailer that is used for shipping. If you want a better chance of receiving a mint steelbook from Walmart, order two copies, which should increase the likelihood of them being shipped in a box. Then you can return one after they arrive.

It's a hassle but really the only way to ensure you get at least one undamaged steelbook.
