For a few more hours the code DJANGO5 gives 5 Euro off. It works with preorders, like the Magnum-Set. It expires at Midnight tonight German Time, which is about 5 hours away.

What a lame code that amounts to barely nothing with their prices. After the long wait for this new stream, this is disappointing. I would’ve ordered several titles with a 10-15% code but now - nothing.

I agree that it's generally disappointing, the one positive is that it can be used for reduced stock, too. If you use it on a Columbia Classics boxset, for example, it brings the price down to €119, which is a 20% discount.

I know what you mean but my point is that the 10€ less don’t really matter as we, for example, can get the newest Columbia Classics (Vol. 5) with a discount and shipped from the US for roughly the same price we’re now having to pay Plaion for Vol. 4 before discount. Same as with brand-new releases of films that are released in the US and locally - here it’s usually more expensive with less product, such as no digital codes and resale value like slip covers for mainstream releases.

I buy most of my stuff in the UK and US anyway but things like them not providing proper discounts when appropriate as probably the biggest boutique label in Germany is IMO ridiculous. It’s not that they’d lose a fortune - it’s about enticing people to buy other items and from other labels there apart from their exclusives.

I've made my last purchase of anything released by Plaion, due to their poor, seemingly non-existent customer service.

The Blu-ray and 4K discs in the Men Steelbook I purchased about 3 months ago have started to corrode (bronze):

I emailed them at the beginning of December 2024, and have not heard back from them. I sent them another email two weeks ago to follow up, and still no reply.

The shop email should be working but try this for now:

Go to their shop homepage and scroll to the bottom to "Kontaktformular", then type in from left to right: Name, surname, E-mail address, phone number if applicable, select issue no. 3 from the drop down list, order number if applicable, finally write in your comments and accept their privacy policy. Then send.

Hopefully this works - they’ve always been friendly and responsive for me.

I think I might have used their webform prior to emailing them direct late last year, but I can't remember for certain. I've filled it out again. Fingers crossed.

Update: Plaion ended up replacing both discs in the shape of a Mediabook:

I actually figured it out after placing my order (the print on the small voucher wasn't clear). So I emailed them asking to delete the order. They never replied to my email (which is poor, let me just say it, it is poor service to not give the decency of an answer), but a few days later the cancelled the order and I received an automatic notification about it. Obviously by then the code had expired. I'll try not to think they did it on purpose but the result is the same.
And no, I wasn't going to already place a second order, with the code, until I heard back from them - I could not be sure they would cancel the first one, some companies aren't that friendly...

Normally they're very fast in replying and friendly. Don't know what happened there with you. There's always a 5 EUR off code. When MONKEY5 is not valid anymore, we have to wait for people to order with Plaion since they'll include the new code then with upcoming orders. I don't have anything on order with them atm, I'll keep an eye out and quote you when the new one is revealed.

Although I don't feel right using a code that wasn't given to me, I asked last time because the Magnum set is quite expensive. Then I did receive two orders with two vouchers with the code. Since then the items I wanted to pre-order have already sold out so I actually have nothing else to order. Oh well, I'll see and probably miss out once again on everything
