Eh, I don't think I'll upgrade to another Apple Iphone, unless it really is an all in one out of the box.

More cons than pros for me. They're finally bringing cut/copy/paste and mms to it, but after how long? Almost a year later? The apps were the coolest part when I first got it, but now I rarely use or download any. I'd rather have a phone that is more functional and longer lasting battery. Don't get me wrong, I loved the phone when I first got it, but now, it's kind of waned off.

What kinds of cons?

I am happy with my iPhone 3G. Does everything I need it to and then some. It's been there when the power was out or the internet was not working. The interface is sleek and simple. It has everything I need.

In regards to MMS - I have a Verizon phone. I have not sent an MMS message for over a year. So I am not missing anything. Picture message? Eh, email me. Copy/Paste - never had copy paste on my other phones - no loss there. Some things I just don't get why people complain.

Will it be cool to have them - yeah. Will I use them? Probably not. I look forward to a new phone - who doesn't replace their phone regularly anyways? It can only get better from here. I have all my blu-ray digital copy movies in itunes. Love that. It's really done well. Super happy.

Verizon can keep their crippled crap phones. Not everyone wants a damn blackberry. If that's all Verizon has - very sad.

i'm not trying to start an argument, and mean no offense to you in any way. but it sounds like an ignorance is bliss sort of thing there. i use copy/paste on a daily for email's and the internet. i couldn't imagine not having something so basic.

as for mms, i probably average 2 a month. but i think its safe to assume you and i are a little older. my younger brother gets them all the time, and complains every time he has to go to some site to look at it.

but those were really my only deal breakers, so i'm not sure what other con's there are. aside from battery life

Yeah, I'm not trying to argue or nothing either. Just saying in my case, those are important to me. Especially MMS and copy/paste. I used that so many times with other phones I didn't realize how much I would really miss it LOL The internet interface on the phone is great, but it's not always reliable. I've had it just up and quit on many numerous times when I really needed it. Or if I'm trying to reserve a movie online with the phone to pick it up, it NEVER works on the last link I have to click to reserve it. It's just minor things that add up to a lot. Sometimes I needed to forward an address or number out of my contacts to somebody and you can't do it straight from the phone and enter it into a text message.

I think we can all agree that the iPhone should have come with MMS in version 1.0 when it was released two years ago. That was so ridiculous.

I was just offered my company owner's 3G iPhone because they don't want it anymore. I might have to take them up on that.

Yeah, it's actually the owner's wife, and she is "less than tech savvy" to put it politely. Great lady, but a little green when it comes to gadgets and whatnot. I need to now figure out how to convince the wife to pay a higher rate for the 3G. Last I heard, it was about $10 per month more for the 3G iPhone plan.

Yeah, it is $10 a month more if you have a regular data plan or whatever. But $10 isn't much. Buy a lot of coffee? Tell her you'll buy two less cups a week or something like that.

I drink my coffee (for free) at work; occasionally I'll buy a bag of premium-ish stuff from Safeway, but that's like once every couple months. I'm sure I'll figure something out.

I've joined the 3G army as of about one hour ago! I got all of the data from my original iPhone moved to this 3G whence I'm writing now. This is my first post at Blu-ray.com on 3G. I'm happy with the 3G performance over the craptastic (although good enough all things conidered) EDGE network connection. I need to put it through some real testing now.

Indeed I am! It seems to be pretty cool, although I haven't really done anything yet that shows me how much better it is than my original iPhone. Pandora seems to work well, though. What I really can't wait to see is OS 3.0. This will (apparently) set the 3G apart from the original.

3.0 should really set apart the new iphone from the 3g too

Yeah, a lot of people are waiting for the 3.0 update. Myself included. I am also waiting to see what is in the works for the new iPhone models.
