If I have to WIN it, then that's lame because it says "play".
You have to COMPLETE them.

If you are only interested in the trophies then what you need to do is find a very quick one. Complete it and save it as your favorite and then go into the menu and filter it so that it only shows your favorites and just replay it. After you play it each time you will have to go back into the filter menu to get that mission to reappear.

I found one mission that could be completed in 20 seconds and just used that to get my trophies.

EDIT: They finally popped for me. So now I'm going to try to go through the game on HARD. Ugh. Not looking forward to this.

I am right there with you. I just finished Boom last night on my hard playthrough.

Can you beat the game on hard without doing all of the side missions and shard collecting? I am thinking of just going for the main missions so I can finish, just wondering if it is possible.

You could play i1 that way, so it should be possible. But I would think you want to collect at least most of the shards you come across to build up your battery core. I just started playing this again, on hard for my first game. I'm not discouraged, but I am concerned. It's pretty hard, and I die a lot, and I haven't even had a boss battle yet. Rockets, grenades, turret guns, miniguns, fast enemies in swarms, exploding enemies, locations without rooftops...lots of changes from i1.

I finished Hard as Evil Cole only picking up blast shards in my path. I completed the Evil side missions for the trophy and a few others that could be completed quickly. I primarily used Scythe Bolt, Alpha Blast and melee. Very rarely would I use the Napalm Grenade. I don't like the arc on it. Because I avoided missions, I didn't have enough points for Hellfire Rocket by endgame. And I didn't feel particularly compelled to use Alpha or Tripwire Rocket for most encounters when Scythe Bolt and Ionic Vortex worked well enough. You can always kill civilians traversing the map during or after missions to gain back your Ionic power pellets.

So I just finished the Good story mission where you
[Show spoiler]restore power to the next area by sending missiles then defending transformers.
I'm playing this on hard, and this was ridiculous. I ultimately finished the mission, but it was nothing but button mashing mayhem and some luck. Is there something I'm missing that would have made that reasonable? I have to complain that the blast power is very poor at repelling grenades and has a very narrow breadth. Throwing cars is next to useless on hard in most crowd situations. You have to be too close to them, and by the time you get it picked up, you've already taken sever damage or you're dead.

Two words: Ionic Storm

Most of the defend-the-transformer missions have enemies coming in waves from a specific direction. You can Ionic Storm down 5+ enemies at a time with a well-timed Ionic Storm. Towards the end, when the charge bar is red and in the 90%+ range, you can just hold L2 to suck power out of the transformer to stay alive; as soon as it hits 100% it blows up and kills all enemies in the vicinity.

I thought the same thing on my playthrough. I don't think I ever sent a gernade back at an enemy, never had a problem with the rockets though.

+ spam your favourite attacks.

You're getting charged automatically every few seconds and you can manually absorb even more.

I don't think I have that power yet. I have Ionic Vortex, but you need to have whatever the charges for that are called (that the enemies drop). By the time I got to the third transformer, they were long gone.

Yeah, the ionic storm is one of the absolute last powers you get.

Even Ionic Vortex can be used to clear out entire waves when used properly.

The only mission it really doesn't help a lot with is the transformers in Flood Town, because they generally approach from all sides. For that, you want to abuse the Enviro Kill option by shooting lightning into the water to fry enemies standing in the water.

Question

I finished the good play through on normal, got all shards and all dead drops. When starting the Evil play through on Hard, do I create a new save file or save over the existing file?

Only using the autosave, when restarting the game, it didn't create a second save for my good character. I was left only with varicose veins Cole.

Seriously two posts to beg for a DLC voucher that anyone who already had one would most likely have used already and/or given away?

Pro-tip: The pre-order skin from the DLC voucher aren't really that impressive anyhow.
