What speakers were you using prior to the Energys?

Logitech Z-680 which were passable for movies but horrid for music. Can't wait to get my new system. The picture on my Panny TH-50PZ80U is beautiful and now I'll have the sound to match.

Thanks guys, I heard the Take 5 classic and really liked them so I figured these would be good speakers. Everyone who owns an Energy system seems to really like them and I wanted to join the club. Speakers and receiver shipped today and sub is production. Can't wait.

One thing I find funny is that everyone one wants to compare Polks and Energys, because the Energy C series was on clearance due to them being discontinued, However, you don't have the Owners of the Energys running to buy new speakers 6 months after getting them as you do in the Polk thread. Its like everyone that is over there now wants to upgrade. But I haven't seen anyone but 4x12 upgrade the Energys.... however he had his Energys for over 8 years.

You will love your Energys. And you will love the eD too.

That was one of the main reasons I picked Energy.

Found a pair of these for $72 open box. Would they work well with my Energy speakers?

It's not bad if your surrounds don't match your front stage but they will not be the best matching speakers but it's a great bang for the buck even though I consider the c-50 for 88$ to have been one of the best at wwstereo.

One thing for sure they will do the work and I highly doubt you'll be disapointed for the price.

just watched "9". the movie definitely has a good soundtrack. the two eD subs were definitely put through their paces as well as my energy c-100s(a whole lot of surround action). the story was kinda offbeat and pretty far out, but the soundtrack was excellent...

it's funny, i seem to watch movies more so now for the sound than for the story. i read over on avs that "9" had some great bass scenes so it had to go into the netflix q...

Yes, indeed. 9 is not only a good movie for the entire family, but it's also an awesome sonic experience that'll especially give your subwoofer(s) a real workout. I could feel the low frequency vibrations pounding against my chest.
