Someone needs to make a cover for Texas Chainsaw 2, the studio art is awful. We need the Breakfast Club Poster Art.

I won't say it's awful (I've seen much worse), but the original poster would be better.

Here is a custom DVD cover over on R1DB.com one could use to create a custom blu replacement:

With that said, what is up with a lot of those Scream Factory covers? Short of the upcoming LIFEFORCE blu, I can't say I'm impressed in the slightest (it's as if they pick the worst custom art possible for their newer releases). With that said, would it be possible for someone to create a alternate cover art for VAMPIRE LOVERS along this line?:

Here are a few links for source material:

The Vampire Lovers Movie Poster (11 x 17 Inches) - Amazon.com ($10)

Vampire Lovers - Italian Art (8 x 10 inches) - $15

While I would prefer the one above, there is a poster one could use to make a cover similar to this with poster art on Wrong Side of the Art (unfortunately, they do not have the above poster yet):

Also, what paper would be good for printing on both sides? I hate blu covers that are blank on the inside (it makes them look cheap). Also also, can someone PM me as far as how to create thumbnails (that link to the pic's original size), so I won't have to post pics that take up half a page.. please?

Next up... Hitchcock!

And I know someone else on the forum did these three titles a while back so I used different key art for the latter two and slightly different title design for the former.

Really really love the fronts and main design of the reverse but I don't like barcodes or disclaimers like "Ultimate Hi-Def experience" - we know that already because they're Blu-rays not DVDs.

Very nice! I've been looking for some nice Hitchcock covers. All I could find were retablo's equally fine work for covers for Notorious, Rebecca, and Spellbound. Will there be more?

I don't know about that rybev. Seems for whatever reason some studios still slap this on cover art for some reason. I don't disagree with you, it seems a bit busy with that and the blu ray logo. I'd remove it, like the To Catch a Thief and format it like that one. Although with the TCOT I'd make the barcode the same size as your other Hitchcock covers. I'd also move the tagline above the movie synopsis and add taglines to the other movies to do the same. I'm also digging the Game of Thrones covers. Those would look beautiful as slips. Something to think about dv8. Great work all around.

Thanks! I am sympathetic to the comments about the back covers, but (and there's no right or wrong way to do this):

a.) I always try to conform to the existing studio templates and if that means useless ad copy, then so be it.

b.) I also consider it a challenge! I realize this is just a hobby - though I am a wannabe graphic design student - and who cares if they conform but I like to see what I can do within those boundaries.

Re: TCAT - I only used the tagline because I had the room. I like to mix and match from different releases and different posters - the first two DVD releases had the "Romance..." tagline, but the 2-disc DVD and the Blu-Ray didn't.

I MIGHT take the tagline out.

To answer Rizor's question, there will be more.

I'm doing the two WB releases next (NxNW and Dial M) and those will have their own unique qualities that have to be dealt with.

UPDATED:

Now with no tagline.

Thanks!!

I don't remember where I found it but I believe it's called Hitchcock. I probably did a search for something to the effect of "Saul Bass font" or something.

Cool hitchcock covers. Any plans to continue that style with some of the films in the Hitchcock collection set?

Are you making them available by PM or hosting on a customs website?

You can PM me your e-mail address and I'll send them along.

I'm going to put them on EuphoricFX but someone literally just did a Hitchcock set a few days ago so I'm gonna wait a little bit and let that guy get some glory.

After the one below and Dial M for Murder, I'm gonna move on to the Universal titles.

Don't forget Warners' Strangers on a Train!

I think for the Warner titles, you should alter their studio template slightly and change the placement of the studio and BD logos on the spine to fit the spines for the other titles. That way they'd all match up on the shelf, and you could continue with the Hitchcock logo on the spine. Same goes for the Universal titles.

Ah, knew I forgot one! That'll be next, then Dial M, then the Universal titles.

I thought about the spine - I might just have to go back and do it.

Actually, I WILL go back - I forgot the Hitch silhouette on the NxNW spine.

EDIT: Done.

Default Hudson Hawk

Hey guys I just picked up the mill creek "Hollywood Homicide/ Hudson Hawk" 2 pack, I was wondering if anyone would do a Hudson Hawk blu-ray cover, so I can replace the awful 2 pack cover art. I bought it just to have Hudson Hawk on blu-ray (Never thought this day would come), Even if you guys could resize the special edition DVD so that it all fits into the bluray case. I would myself but I have no idea how to do this stuff and I really admire you guys.

I love them all...any reason for the big box with the names on the cover of 'to catch a thief'?

That's as it is on the original poster - it is a little obtrusive, i'm suprised the original poster designer went with it.
