Oh yeah I'd triple dip on Savage Streets and/or JBD if they reissue them in 4K. I'm even willing to overlook them using the same master for JBD they've used for the Blu-ray. I'd pass on Messiah of Evil, though. That film mostly bored me.

My slipcover to Magdalena came off fine. It's a bit of a tight fit but I'd rather that than be loose.

My slipcover isn't too tight, but it's definitely got issues with the glow layer, both around the bottom edge but also along the curve of the face. Bubbles or air pockets, like others have mentioned.

I, myself had put off purchasing Messiah of Evil, hoping that one day it would get a nice transfer done to it. Hopefully we will see this.

Just finished up watching Magdalena for the first time ever a few minutes ago and had a lot of fun with it. I know it's been regarded as an Exorcist rip off and what not, but a better comparison would be to Beyond the Door. (Yes, yes I know it's also technically an Exorcist Rip off, but this comparison gives you a better idea as to the quality of the film). The film overall looks and sounds quite nice, however all of the sleazier uncut elements have damage that best resembles a really well worn VHS tape. Whenever something crazy/good is about to happen (pretty much involving full frontal nudity) the Print goes nuts for a second as if the tracking on a VHS is all out of wack. I honestly haven't ever seen anything like it on Blu Ray but even with the extensive damage to those bits I really wasn't all that bothered by it. Truth be told I found those problems almost mildly entertaining/endearing as it gave the impression that someone had been rewinding and rewatching these bits over and over again. More annoying for me was that throughout much of the other scenes there is a faint line that runs vertically though the picture on the right side of the screen. Despite being more faint and less obtrusive, it was more of a distraction to me for some reason.

In terms of quality presentation this one isn't Dark Forces best effort as I still consider The Dead Pit to overall be the best thing released on a number of different levels, however this is very watchable and fits perfectly with the label. It will undoubtedly be a film I revisit in the future and is ripe for rediscovery. I'd rate it amongst my top 3 DF releases and despite the print damage throughout the film still give it a pretty big thumbs up and recommendation for folks curious. This film just oozes grindhouse/exploitation theater and I have no doubt many users here will appreciate it a great deal.

Thanks again Dave, this isn't exactly the kind of film I get excited over (70's grindhouse fare is very hit or miss for me) but it was very much a fun experience and a film I'm glad to have learned about and gotten the opportunity to experience. It's going to make for a fun revisit one day if/when I ever decide to do a proper Exorcist/Exorcist Rip off Marathon.

LOL did you watch the trailer reel included on the disc? In the middle of one of the trailers, there is—no $h!t—what appears to be a buffering screen from YouTube.

DARK FORCE MAGDALENA UPDATE: Due to technical difficulties with the production of the Magdalena custom glow in the dark slipcover, we have been forced to discontinue it. Instead we have designed a new custom slipcover for the remaining Magdalena inventory left at the replicator that will not glow in the dark. We have approximately 250 units left at the Dark Force Store with the original Glow in the Dark slipcover. To salvage some of our losses due to the very minor defect, we will be reopening the Dark Force store and offering it for sale for those that wanted. The majority of the customers that received it love it. If you purchased Magdalena and your order number is between #11913 through #12233 and would a replacement for the glow slip we will be offering a replacement program for the new slipcover. It saddens us that we had to discontinue the glow cover but the fix would be too costly and time consuming. Stay tuned for more info and a look at the brand new custom MAGDALENA SLIPCOVER replacement.

Although the back of my Slip was already damaged in shipment, I do now notice a rather large air bubble pocket near the bottom of the front of the slip.

I'm not sure... it sounds like they have 250 of the original Slips left, and will be offering more of them for sale when the website reopens.

More seriously, the movie was a trip and something I had never seen before, but between the slip issues and the shoddy job on the trailer reel, I'm guessing there wasn't much done in the way of QC here.

Yeah it's gonna shoot up in value. Cause now the run got cut way short. The slip looks amazing even with the tiny little flaw and the transfer is the best ever available on home video of the uncut X-rated version of the movie which also happens to be great. And the trailers on there...does anybody really care?

If the air bubble bursts, are the chemicals that make it glow going to spill out? I plan to reseal mine with super glue and paint over the area yellow as best I can to minimize the "damage". I hope Magdalena won't mind.

I'm guessing you guys changed manufacturers - none of the other glow slips had this issue. Don't fix what ain't broke

I think the new slips should come with only the nipples glowing in the Dark instead of the whole image. I'm sure that variant would fly off the shelves.

Are these releases that have the glow in the dark slipcovers only available on the Dark Force store or elsewhere too? The reason I ask, is that these are showing up at a local store new where I'm at, owned by older people that I doubt know much about this stuff. A bit cheaper too than I've seen it on the DF store. I've found Dead Pit not long ago (second release slip) and Insect/Blue Monkey there so far. Just thought that was weird.
