That's the thing. I only remove big clumps of the glue. I leave it if it is a small amount and put the photo over it so it will stick. Then I used some transparent silicone to attach the spine to the back of the artwork. I am going to do a tutorial video if I get 10 thumbs up on the video I posted and will show step by step. But I wanted to make sure there were enough people interested before I do it.

Awesome video. Now just to find the template and a program to mock the pictures up in and I'm golden.

There are many options available on Adobe's website now that they've changed over to a cloud-based subscription service. You can just get the free trial for a month and bust out as many steel arts as you can and not have to pay anything. They have a special right now for PS only that's $9.99 per month for a year, but you have to pay it all up front, so $120.

Alternatively, you can just find a copy of PS on a file share site and download it for free and have it on your PC forever.

I always aim to avoid the software piracy option.

Yeah, same here, I was just trying to lay out ALL the options.

Personally, I have the $10/mo, $120/year PS membership and highly recommend it while it's at half price. I think the offer ends soon though.

Or Gimp. it's a free alternate version of Photoshop

Thanks for the kind words guys! I was going to suggest Gimp also as that was what I originally tried to use on my PC but I found a tutorial on how to do it with photoshop so I used my laptop. Gimp is free. And the template is easy to find. I linked the page in the description on my video. Glad you guys found it useful!! It was fun shooting just not fun editing!

Damn I watched this video like 10 times during editing and it was fine. I guess it had a problem when it uploaded. At least you can hear what I'm saying and it is easy to follow. Sorry about that.

Yeah, I've tried using gimp but just couldn't get used to it. After using Photoshop for 15 years, I've just gotten too used to it to change.

No need to apologize, it's a really good tutorial.

Here are the ones I have done so far. A few hiccups on some of the spines, but for the most part they came out great. They look a lot more vivid in person than in the pics. Tried to capture them as best as I could with my crap camera. I still have about 5 other steels to do. The process is definitely getting a lot easier as I do more and more.

Man, they look awesome. I need to give this a try to the WB steels from BB. I have to find the best way to do it though since I don't have a printer.

If you don't have an awesome printer, what places would you guys recommend? Also for the people printing at places, what size are you selecting? What kind of paper?

Does your interior artwork just fit right or did you have to fold the edges? For example, if you print the despicable me image to fit just right inside, does the original artwork show on the sides? Hopefully I asked that right.
