Whoa, that's a little surprising. I'll be very interested to see if...

A) the rest of them show up

B) the Hitchcock set follows suit

And that strikes me as more evidence that the UK coffin won't be like the French one, as the individual covers are completely different.

I keep thinking I wish that they'd show us the contents of the UK coffin and then I realise that they probably have. This Universal "rep" probably has no more clue than anyone else.

I'm keeping my UK Monsters pre-order for now...but if they get individual releases here in the US I might just dump it altogether if they're cheap enough. The only titles I'm really jonesing for are Dracula and the two Frankensteins; if I can get those three for ~$30 or so then I can be satisfied missing the others for approximately $25 more.

That won't be the case for me with the Hitchcock set. I'm getting all of those bad boys.

Isn't it missing the lossless mono soundtrack though?

Potential first time importer with a bit of a question that I hope someone can help with.

I just became aware of the UK sets and was amazed at the level of savings compared to the US release. I was about to pull the trigger on the UK coffin set from Amazon UK when I noticed a price difference that I can not account for.

The set is listed at 44 pounds. As I was about to place my order, one click away, I noticed the price changed to 36.67 pounds with a grand total of 39.75 pounds. However, it is still listed as 44 pounds in the cart/basket.

I was just wondering if I am missing something here? I am not sure where the price difference came from

That is because VAT is taken off for the US. It's basically the tax. So it will be 39.75 pounds total.

That was it. Strange considering the US release only has French and English, yet the UK version has those and German, Japanese and Spanish soundtracks and still has the 5.1 and 2.0 lossless mixes.

Atleast for now. Our Congress has been trying to pass a VAT tax for ages, but I know the Govt can spend my money better then I can so its all good. /sarcasm /rant

Question Universal Horror Classic Box - some dissapointed

First: its great that those Universal Horror Classic like "Dracula", "Frankenstein", "The Mummy", "The Invisble Man" and "The Wolfman" coming out on blu-ray.

but honestly, I'm a bit dissapointed -

where are the great Sequels which had been once released any years ago on DVD????

I would be easy to add those Sequel's per character one BD's. Or not?

I'd hate to work for a studio. No matter how much you give people, they'll always find something to complain about.

The answer is obvious, it will be "The Son of Universal Monsters Collection" arriving sometime around Halloween 2013.

They're putting out their 8 most popular titles, with tons of supplements in a nice set.

If I'm counting correctly, adding in the sequels from the Legacy sets adds another 19 (!) titles.

How about leaving them something to release later on? I think it's a little unrealistic to expect that they'd put out a 27-film set right out of the gate, not to mention that the price of such a set would put it out of reach for lots of people, and impact overall sales.

I'm content with the movies we are getting.
The only change I would make is include the Lon Chaney "Phantom of the Opera" and release the Claude Rains version at a later time.

Yea, I'd much rather have the Lon Chaney version as well.
