Sleeping Beauty (1959) (Diamond Edition)

Just got back form my local Best Buy and managed to get the lenticular copy.

When I entered my code at Disney Movie Rewards, I got offered The Legacy Collection Sleeping Beauty album for $10. Thought that was a pretty good deal so I took it (though it was the digital album....and I'll probably end up buying the physical album later cause I've already bought the first two albums of the collection ).

I'd thought I'd share that info for people interested in the album.

I saw that and wondered if it was the CD. Glad I didn't make my purchase. I'd prefer to buy an actual disc.

Just got my copy of the BB exclusive slip, they only had 2 copies in stock. I bought the one that didn't have the cover image glued on at a angle. I love this cover it looks so cool now that I'm home and can appreciate it! Best Buy had about 9 of the normal slips.

Also stopped by Target this morning but they had none out, not even the non-exclusive version.

Didn't know the Legacy Collection (digital download) would be available sooner than the CD release. Here's the DMR ad.

Wow, the eBay site are selling used copies of the Diamond Edition by the bibleload. And cheap too ($9 for very good condition, slipcover-less sets).

I sure hope someone sells me that BB-exclusive slipcover, so I can round out my plan.

thats probably because most people got cheap versions of the original that is now out of print, like i remember when it 1st came out which is when I got mine, it was $10 or under on release day

Oops, must have misread that. Thought it said 2014, not 2015.

Still waiting for the ups to get here but I'm seeing on Twitter and Instagram people got the best buy exclusive. So yes they might sell out fast.

no i am saying people are selling the new ones cheap, because maybe they got them and released they didn't have all the bonus features as the 1st edition of the sleeping beauty blu ray
i know if i was a collector and didn't have the 1st edition of sleeping beauty blu I would try to hunt thats down before the new diamond edition, since why pay more day 1, for less content.
the 1st edition of sleeping beauty blu was easily $10 less or maybe more day 1 and it has been used for around $6 to $9 before shipping in the past year on amazon

I was responded to the guy's comment about the Platinum Edition sets being cheap on release. It was going for much more elsewhere, particular at Amazon for $25+ on a good condition. But here they are, being sold on eBay for less than $10. If that's always been this way, I probably should've made the deal earlier.

As it turns out, there were no changes to DC redemption for this title. I temporarily entered my SB code at the DC+ website to take a screenshot of the options; except for the title, it was identical to the one I took for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. You get your DMA redemption (still just iTunes for now) plus one DC+ redemption from your choice of iTunes (non-DMA), Vudu, Target Ticket, Amazon or Google Play. I'll wait a bit to make sure Disney isn't announcing any new DMA providers today; if they don't I'll redeem tomorrow for DMA + Google Play (for HD playback on my Nook HD).

Both posts were referring to the "Legacy Collection" version of the soundtrack, listed on the SAE website (but NOT a Twilight Time release). It's also available on CD from Amazon right now; it won't be available for download from either iTunes or Amazon till Nov. 4. (At least three other versions of the Sleeping Beauty soundtrack are available now from iTunes.)
