That right there might be the problem. My shipped order was place way back in July. If they ship them on a first come, first served basis, they may have ran out of the initial stock.

Well I wont be getting mine. UPS left it at the front door to my LOCKED apartment building and 12 minutes later, it's gone. I was home all day, awake all day, waiting because they have to ring the doorbell and they didn't.
No words can express how pissed I am right now.

I received mine today and popped it in.

It looks alright if I'm sitting far away from the TV, but otherwise it's not so great. Oh well, at least I was warned.

My biggest disappointment is actually something I *wasn't* warned about: you are not able to turn off the English subtitles when watching it in Japanese. I don't even understand why that's even a thing. You can't change language or subtitles with the remote- you have to bring the menu up and do it from there. That's just... not okay. Japanese without English subtitles isn't an option.

Amazon originally offered me a refund or a replacement but then told me to wait a day, just to make sure it wasn't accidentally marked as delivered. My parents told me to file a police report lol

And even if I take the replacement, it could be 2 weeks before I actually get it. -_-
Whoever did take it, I hope they were expecting an iPhone so they can be really disappointed to discover a 90s magical girl anime.

Another really unfortunate standard practice amongst anime distributors. Thankfully my player has subtitle shift, meaning I can move them completely off the screen.

That's to be expected. A lot of anime is like that, it has to do with licensing. It's to prevent Japanese people from importng the U.S. version, since our releases tend to be cheaper than Japanese releases.

Oh, thanks for that Scarface32- I guess that makes sense. I don't watch a lot of anime, but I am fluent in Japanese and I am a Sailor Moon fan- I just wanted to support an English release. The only other ones I've had is the releases of Ghibli works released by Disney, and those you are able to turn off the subtitles.
ETA: of course, Disney owns Ghibli now. This was before then, though.

I had already reordered my Sailor Moon Blu-ray thru righstuf. So just for the hell of it I decided to see Amazon and see if they gave any indication as to why they were not shipping the Blu-rays. As it turns out Amazon change their website today and the Blu-ray limited edition box set said that it will ship in 7 to 11 days. I also looked at the DVD and that says in stock. So I'm thinking that maybe Amazon ran out of the Blu-rays and only have the DVDs in stock. If that's the case why doesn't Amazon say on the website that this is on backorder or there's going to be a delay. Either way I really don't care anymore I order this thru Righstuff. It just pisses me off that Amazon would not let people know what's going on with a specific item. If you're looking to order the Sailor Moon Blu-ray through Amazon please don't. I sent a email to customer service about this issue and I'm waiting for them to see what they have to say. So next week my Blu-ray should arrive at my house and I never have to go through this headache again. Simply put if you were going to get the Blu-rays of Sailor Moon get them thru Righstuf.

Just on a whim I checked out the Best Bey's near my area and all but one store were sold out of the Bluray. Walmart only got in the dvd, so it's looking like you're s.o.l. for the week if your web order didn't ship =/

Like me, it seem that Walmart prefers to sell DVDs then Blu-ray. I feel that they only sell blu Ray when they have to.

So Amazon responded to my email I sent them. Basically they said they were going to send what I sent them to some department so that something like this never happens again in the future. Also to make up for me being pissed off they're giving me a $10 certificate so I can use on my next order. That's fine and all but that doesn't fix the problem the Amazon basically screwed people by putting a release date and then quietly changing it on their website. Anyway I'm done with Amazon I ordered with Righstuf now I just have to play the waiting game.
