Arrow and Flash are on a TV channel of sorts and MAY be on some domestic streaming services (I don't care about those), HBO Nordic has Supergirl and Netflix has Legends of Tomorrow as a simulcast. Arrow and Flash are HEAVILY delayed, of course.

Says so on the previous page. Not something that really bothers me, to be honest. A Netflix release isn't THE FINAL SHOWDOWN anyway.

The dub voices sound good to me. I watched a comparison on Twitter and the old dub sounds way too cheesy.

Yeah I don't really have a major problem with the new dub, early episodes are usually dicey and naturally there'll be a lot of push-back from people who are so familiar with the previous cast (such as myself), I watched Episode One which was fine for a first episode dub, then EoE which I actually thought was pretty decent. Like it or loathe it, some of the pushback is pretty embarrassing (there's nothing QUITE like videos of grown men yelling over an anime dub), if you went online a year ago the ADV version would be called grossly inaccurate, now the new version is changing the classic lines , not defending the translation quality, as I can't actually attest to that. Considering how involved Khara got with 3.0, I would bet that they were somewhat involved here too.

Not having Fly Me To The Moon outside of Japan is disappointing, but not much else. Cues are replaced on streaming services all the time, as Naiera said, it's not the "FINAL SHOWDOWN" as if it was pressed onto a disc and sent out altered which would be very bad- I'm surprised enough that we've apparently gotten the re-cut 21-24 (I haven't actually checked, just going off the twitter feed), I figured we'd just get the On-Air versions given that streaming platforms usually just play original broadcast versions.

All that being said, the JP dub is still there, although the problem of how Netflix's player handles subtitles remains present

I have a soft spot for Spike Spencer as Shinji, but overall I actually think the new dub is a definite improvement.

I've always felt that the old dub wasn't great. And not just the performances, but the script also with the random cursing or small inaccuracies.

Saw a bunch of people on facebook and twitter (that might be my first problem...) hating on the subtitles/translation. Just watched episode 1. Didn't see anything wrong with them at all.

Don't know who's who in the anime world, but saw your post NLScavenger saying good people are behind it. Like, there WAS nothing wrong with them right? This is just a bunch of people with irrational hate?

I'll need to watch the Netflix dub sometime this weekend. I do have nostalgia for the ADV dub, so curious to see how it compares. Comments I've seen on Facebook don't give the Netflix release much praise though. Noticed complaints about script changes and grammar. I'll judge for myself.

Mmm, not sure how I'm supposed to take that, nor am I sure what there is to "weigh in" on.

They've altered the script so that the undertones of the scene and that character are gone now.
