It sounds like people are getting screwed even with the receipt. It's sad that Best Buy has gone down this far and they are hiring people who clearly couldn't be paid to care anymore than they already do, which is at all. I should get myself hired at my nearest, but for some reason I can never get a foot in. Everyone seems to want it, but the bums end up getting in. I would single-handedly revolutionize the movie section and the way it's operated.

Yea huge ordeal but I got a copy. Went to the Best Buy 3 miles away at 10am and the girl said they had 1 out on the floor and it was gone. So I decide to drive to the one about 25 minutes away. Go in and they are all out but I find a hidden copy behind some regular editions. Awesome! Success! On my way back home I decide to stop again at my local shop to look at other stuff. I walk in and they have a huge cardboard shipper with 8 steels just siting there. The same girl who said they were out earlier felt bad and said "I wish I got your number! Usually they put the shippers out for me but it was in back". That's what I get for getting there early I guess. Oh well everything worked out for me, hope everyone has some luck today

I'm serious. I'm in that store so much I know where everything in that section is. Granted it is smaller than it has ever been and they don't change it hardly at all anymore. I would be the most helpful and enthusiastic movie department representative they could ever hope to find. And probably get my a** fired because other, lesser, employees would be so jealous they would band together to foist me out.

Was at BB 20 minutes after they opened. I had preordered my copy online (a first for me) but figured I'd rather pick one out myself - I'm OCD about the condition of my steel books. There were no steel books either on the New Release shelf or in the Fury Road cardboard standee right in front of the entrance. So I went to customer service and asked the clerk if they got any Fury Road steel books in. She said they only got in what was preordered (3 copies) and that I was the last person to pick up their order. Seriously? 3 preorder copies and that's it? I find that hard to believe. Why have all that space reserved on the shelf/standee for the steel book edition and not have more stock than preorders? I think their employees snatched them all up. Luckily my copy is in good condition - but had I not preordered it online I'd be SOL.

They don't want employees actually helping customers [and effecting their bottom line] I once heard a BB manager reprimand this employee a few feet away from me in the movies section for helping a customer pick out a [cheaper] BD/Dvd combo pack than the (higher priced) stand-alone DVD the guy was asking about, telling him he's paid to "not think about whats best for them, but us" |

I'm going to print up a copy of the email that I got with the digital copy code and try my luck. I have my ID as well. If they give me a hard time, I'll raise one hell of a fit. I know it's "my bad" for not having the card with me, but none the less, they NEED to have a contingency plan for this sort of thing. There is no reason why I shouldn't be able to show my ID and have that work. A card and/or receipt can easily be misplaced over the course of a month. |
