Wow, CW even behind First Avenger? That doesnt sound very encouraging as I was looking forward to watch CW for the first time this week
I guess just throwing new superhero characters into the mix doesnt help a movie be better after all

CW is fantastic but I really do have a soft spot for Cap 1, it's such an old-fashioned kinda adventure that I love it beyond all reason. (And given that recent video about lame the MCU music is, Cap 1 has got a terrific score from musical maestro Alan Silvestri.)

In the case of Captain America: Civil War, the introduction of new superhero characters enhances the film quite a bit and each introduction makes perfect sense in context to the overall storyline.

Captain America: Civil War never seems "overcrowded" or too busy, like lesser superhero films often do. There's an astute Akira Kurosawa-esque level of filmmaking in this movie that plays out in such a way that, even during the battle scenes featuring all of the characters, we know exactly where each person is on the battlefield and we have a mental image of the overall layout of the battle. The filmmakers did a great job, in this instance, of matching the superheroes in battle so that there are a lot of fun one-on-one fights that are going on at the same time.

With regard to the existing superheroes whom we already know and love, the Marvel Universe has done such a great job of establishing these characters over a series of films that we always know exactly what is going on in the minds of these characters.
Example:
[Show spoiler]We know exactly why Hawkeye is pulling punches while fighting Black Widow.

Technically it is part of the product, but with what I know of stores' treatment of slip covers and considering that you would potentially be getting a dinged up slip cover in return or no slip cover at all, I don't think it's a bad thing that you keep the slip cover you already have.

If the employee asks about it tell them the slips they have are in worse shape than the one you have and you don't want to exchange the one you have for one in worse shape. Or just say you forgot it at home. Either way, you shouldn't have any problem unless you have the unfortunate luck of dealing with a very unaccomodating employee.
What do you mean by "floater?" Anyways, yeah, just leave the slip at home and don't mention it. I've never had an issue with that. If, against all odds, they do ask about it, you can just let them keep the slip from the new one you're getting.

I would watch the entire movie again, but I would have no idea if the disc's content is truly damaged unless I go through every single thing. Not worth the hassle. I was going back to BB later this week to pickup something anyway. Wonder if they're going to think I'm crazy for wanting to keep the slipcase and not exchange the original product in its entirety? Meh.
Mine was like that. I didn't see any scuffs or scratches on the disk. Last night, I had a skip after the funeral scene with Cap and Natasha. It was a few seconds of a jump, but quite noticeable. I'm debating on taking it back. This is a steelbook and I've already redeemed the code.

I never got people claiming that the Captain America: The First Avenger was a bad entry in the series. Personally, I love it. You got a superhero movie set in World War II, complete with evil Nazi scientists, an over the top villain, and a good story about friendship and heroism. A friend on Twitter said he likes it because it has a vibe similar to another movie about an "enhanced" hero during World War II: The Rocketeer. But I understand some people don't like that either. Maybe I just try to let each film I watch work on its own rather than force preconceived ideas of what I think it should be on it.

Which just leads me to believe that yes, there are people who are against things like friendship and love.

Sorry to be a interrupt this thread, but as a Walmart employee, I can very well relate to what "short on staff" means. Besides management & Electronics Dept. employees, the average associate should have no time whatsoever to be in the backroom area seeking out media boxes. BTW..associates are allowed 2 breaks per 8 Hr shift, and they are enforced, so smoke "em if ya got "em, for sure

I think it just felt really old-fashioned to a lot of people so they tuned it out. The old-fashionedness was entirely the point (it's no coincidence that Rocketeer and Cap 1 were directed by the same person, Joe Johnston) but you can't force people to like something. Eh, I love it and that's what counts.

Captain America 1 is getting a lot of reevaluation as this series goes on, partly because it is the ONLY one of these movies with an effective romantic interest/love story. The action scenes fall a bit flat, but who cares?

I'm reminded right now that I really need to stop procrastinating and purchase The Rocketeer on Blu-ray already. I loved that movie when I saw it on the big screen back in the day, and I loved revisiting it a few times. It was a fun story, and Jennifer Connelly was at her absolute most beautiful.

I love Captain America: The First Avenger, by the way. My favorite moment is when Steve Rogers stops during a chase to save a kid, and the kid says something like, "I can swim. Go get him!" Haha. People were tougher then.

The special effects in Captain America: The First Avenger fall somewhat by the wayside during the second half, and that's why it's my least favorite of the three Captain America films, but it's still a classic.

I don't know, I keep watching Civil War and keep feeling like it's my favorite of the franchise, followed by Winter Soldier. I enjoy them both very much.

Of all the movies Cap the First avenger is my favorite and the best IMO....the newer releases set in the modern era don't have that same feel to it. We need more of the Cap back in 40's. I guess you know how I feel about Agent Carter too.....

I still have my First Avenger steelbook and it's the only Marvel film I own because honestly I feel like its the only one that's interesting and unique enough to have some replay value. Haven't seen this one yet but I wasn't impressed by Winter Soldier.

The only problems I have with The First Avenger are the lack of action sequences (which are substituted by montages which are frustrating) and some weak looking digital photography and effects which don't do the time-period setting any justice.

Apart from that it's a stellar movie and out of the three, it has the most heart as well as the best score BY A MILE

You might like Agent Carter season 1 and 2 if you enjoy the period style

I wasn't the biggest fan of First Avenger when it first came out. However, the Winter Soldier made me much more interested in the character and appreciate his back story more. I now list First Avenger in my top 5 MU films, behind WS, Guardians, Avengers, Iron Man, & CW.

Go Cap!

I posted the name and runtime a few pages back, but not the description. Copied and pasted directly from Disney Movies Anywhere:

Building Team Cap: A Closer Look At Two Of Captain America's Allies
Trace the evolution of Bucky Barnes, a character who has a long history with Steve Rogers, from his earliest days as Cap's best friend through his years as the Winter Soldier and beyond. Then learn how Team Cap's Scott Lang was able to transform from Ant-Man to Giant-Man at a critical moment in Captain America: Civil War. 12:48
