How many hours?

The story is decent but nothing amazing. It's mostly just a series of finding clues that are important to V, to help her figure out how to
[Show spoiler]stay alive before time runs out. There's not a great explanation as to why she can't just remove the Johnny Silverhand chip from her brain beyond the Ripper Doc saying "But I don't have the skill to do it". Meanwhile, she just placed the chip into her brain, and now she can't take it out? Her dying probably had something to do with that, so that's a decent explanation but not a great one.

Exactly how is that too short? Main story is close to 25-30 hours.

Short games would be something like SM: Miles Morales.

They talk about it. The
[Show spoiler]chip is basically eating the brain of the host, V, and has now merged minds/personalities with Johnny. V basically has two personalities at the same time and they are fused together but Johnnies is going to eventually take over.

I'm not finished with the story yet but from what I understood from notes and in game conversations the chip was created to replace the mind of people with a different subconscious.

I definitely think those wanting something a bit shorter than Witcher 3 might be the ones moreso with the complaint about length of story in that context. I know for me, i definitely enjoyed The Witcher 3 but didn't even do the DLC yet and that would have given me maybe another easy 20hrs worth of play.

so myfirst time playing this. Playing this on my base PS4 with the 1.05 update. So main file size of 109GB. Using external HDD.

About 2 to 3 hours in. Just got out of Dex's car.

Saw someone sitting on air in the middle of the road. Jackie disappeared at one point but still saw his guns when looking and saving the girl. No crosshairs and no bullets coming out of gun when shooting out of the car trying to hit the people in the van.

Seen few things randomly render out of nowhere in the city. and picture gets grainy. Like it goes low res. No crashes so far.

would using a external SSD help the last part?

Length wise I get the main story in Witcher 3 was long, but otherwise the main quest in WRPGs like Skyrim, Fallout 3 and later etc tend to be short. All the side quest story lines are the main draw IMO. They’re second to none here IMO. Have really enjoyed Panam’s, River Wards and the Peralez’ so far.

Over 30 hours and still in Act 2.

Playing on the XSX there was some minor bugs and annoyances. Didn't run into anything game breaking.
There was a recent interview with a CDPR dev who confirmed the main story was shorter than Witcher 3's because they looked at player completion rates of Witcher and found it was too low. So I guess you could lay some blame toward all the gamers who bought but didn't finish Witcher 3.

165GB for a PS4 game with sub par resolutions etc. and that's before we even get a PS5 edition with closer to 4K, 30fps, RTRT and higher quality textures.
There's supposed to be a whole new 'Kraken' compression method available to developers Mark Cerny talked about. They really should make use of it!

I personally experienced this, and others have as well;

Similar, but not technically the same thing. When The Last of Us 2 was removed - it was a pre-order listing, not a released title that had been out for a week
I’ve done that 3 times yesterday during my 6 hour run. I didn’t encounter this problem. Not saying it’s fake, just saying I didn’t get effected & during both game crashes, when I loaded up my manual save, I checked & they were the same. I changed Audio a few times because I use 2 different headsets. Pulse 3D & Sennheiser.

Yeah Last of Us Part II ain’t quite as bad but Sony issued full refunds without your consent because ND didn’t finalize the last real street date when they made their last delay. They also pulled it from PSN.

Definitely.

I stood in awe looking 2 blocks away at heavy traffic. As soon as any vehicle came close to the second block, they disappeared entirely. Where I was standing also, A car would randomly spawn out of nowhere as did a few NPCs.

That next gen immersion.

Don't let your save file exceed 8MB in size. It will become permanently corrupted.

Here's the report about the finished state of the game back in April 2020.

Quote:
Cyberpunk 2077 is in a complete form, CD Projekt RED is now only fixing and polishing it
April 10, 2020 John Papadopoulos

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that all PC fans are looking forward to. And, from the looks of it and despite the Coronavirus outbreak, the game will meet its September release date. According to CD Projekt RED, Cyberpunk 2077 is in a complete form, with all of its main and side quests being implemented to it.

During its latest financial call, CD Projekt RED revealed some new details about its upcoming RPG. Due to the Coronavirus, the team is working on a digital strategy to replace its E3 2020 content and presentation. So yeah, expect more screenshots and videos to hit the Internet this Summer.

Moreover, the team is very comfortable with the September release date. All that is left to do is lots of small things like certification from first party, the day-zero patch and fixing/polishing. However, and most importantly, the game is in a complete form. From now and until September, CD Projekt RED will be fixing and polishing the game. In other words, the team won’t be adding new content to it.

It’s also interesting to note that the pre-orders on the PC are higher than those on consoles. As always, we are against pre-ordering a game (even if we’re talking about a game like Cyberpunk 2077). Still, this statistic is quite interesting, especially since the console gamers will receive an upgraded next-gen version/update for free.

Lastly, both internal and external testers are right now testing Cyberpunk 2077. External testers work from their homes through VPN and are double the amount from those of The Witcher 3.

In short, things are looking pretty good for Cyberpunk 2077. So, let’s hope that the game will be more polished than The Witcher 3 at launch.

Stay tuned for more!

Thanks Resetera https://www.dsogaming.com/news/cyber...-polishing-it/

Glad you finally got the game in the mail. They delayed it for you for too long. That stinks.

Sorry to hear about the bugs so far. It's immersion breaking for sure. CDPR didn't really care. If they did, this would have been polished and not dumped onto the disc. They're BS artists as of now, the people at CDPR who did the interviews saying the game was going well. I still remember them saying, "The game is pretty much finished, we're just going in and polishing things," to paraphrase. That was early 2020 I think.

------
Interview about when they started working on Cyberpunk>
Quote:
When did development on Cyberpunk 2077 start exactly? It’s been planned for a while now.

We had a team going when we were working on The Witcher 3 actually. We built two teams to do the two games in parallel then we cannibalised the second team to come back and work on Witcher 3 before putting everyone on this project.

So Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for a while then?

Yeah, for a little while. In pre-production. We had about 75 guys working on it at that time.

Was it always planned to come out this year? Because the original roleplaying game, which it’s based on, is called Cyberpunk 2020 and now the video game is coming out in 2020… Is that a coincidence?

No, I think we wanted to get the game out earlier in 2019 actually. But it kind of makes sense that it’s 2020, right? [laughs]

10 MB was the limit for Fallout 3 on PS3 I remember. If it went past that, the game kept crashing. It was a nightmare. It had to do with limited RAM of the PS3 for save files, and I had to go into an older save and go into all the lockers where I stored items and empty them out to get the game working right under 10 MB.

8 MB, that sounds ridiculous. I haven't crafted anything yet, so hopefully that's the main issue for larger save files.

I ended up not minding it after reading all of the issues the game was/still is having.

I popped the game in for a few more hours. Taking my time with the story. But by hour 3 things were starting to happened I ended up turning it off. Things falling off or exploding when near them but didn't touch them. Like trash bags, papers, cans falling, plants.

Meeting Dex for Heist Mission. before getting to the main room to see him a item pop up appears on the screen showing what item I was looking at (but I wasn't trying to look at). So because of this when we get to the room Jackie walks through the door and I can't get it. So I save and reload, and door opens.

Afterwards we go outside, Jackie leaning against the car. He's clay faced and his motorcycle decided to fly in the air and land a few spaces down, and other stuff around acting like they're being hit or shot at so I just turned it off.

The article links to a reddit discussion where people are talking about their sav.dat file sizes and also link to other discussions and articles about the issue. https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkga..._in_your_save/
https://forums.cdprojektred.com/inde...pted.11052596/

So I guess you could reply directly to some of the people who are reporting this problem and let them know it's BS? Could be helpful!
