The bottom line, given many of the things that you post (while no where near as out there as your other comments, even some of your TV distance statements were silly), you either better get used to jokes and sarcasm, or just find something else to do than post here. Because the jokes and sarcasm aren't going anywhere.

In the US it appears all the majors are headed to providing their own streaming service. IIRC, most of the Disney content will be removed from Netflix at the end of the year. Just a matter of time till all the Showtime content is removed. Same could be said about HBO content on Amazon Prime.

It's a long term strategic move from the cable/media giants. Pull thier content, make thier own individual streaming services. It might knock down Netflix, prime, Hulu ECT... a bit. Then everyone will get back onboard with cable service, because it would be cost prohibitive to sucbribe to everyone's streaming services. |

It wouldn't take much effort to repost your long list of similar remarks. I honestly don’t see these streaming services being any different than when cable started popping up when I was a teenager. It was only a matter of time before the studios got wise and cut out the middle man. If not for my MiL, we’d go down to streaming at this point. Most of what she watches can be found on disc or streaming.
Cable here is a bit better than before, but not by much. Plus, my wife and I only watch HGTV and The Good Place and both channels have an app. Our son is either watching discs, gaming or streaming. So it just feels like money better spent elsewhere ![]() |

![]() Is there anyone here who can not tell who I was referencing? Is there anyone here who can not see that it was a joke, regardless of how funny or not they found that joke to be? I made a LOT of fun of that same poster here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...ostcount=12136 And you thanked me there, too. I give that guy the business a great deal, but he takes it all in stride. I can respect that. You, on the other hand, are instantly and mortally wounded over the slightest use of humor when it is directed at you, crying to the heavens about how unfair and cruelly you are being treated. You routinely thank people when jokes are made about anyone but yourself. If you are the subject of the joke, however, then it is not a joke anymore. It is instead a grievous insult of the worst possible taste. You have ZERO problem with humor aimed at others, but you cry foul anytime any is directed towards you. He was the ONLY person to talk about headphones in any context over the last several days, other than my replies to him, and you were present during all of it. When I mentioned headphones in these posts, you knew exactly who I was talking about. Furthermore, you thanked me for that post as well. You have never thanked anyone, that I can recall, when they were joking about you. When you are the subject of a joke, you cry and cry about how unfairly you are being treated. You knew who I was poking fun at both times and you thanked me both times. You have no clue what is happening here nor likely anywhere else. Believe what you want because I simply do not care. I was unaware of it, but I was not in the market for a 4K disc player. Still, I am glad to see that some players are becoming so affordable, even if only during a sale. Economically priced players will only help the 4K disc format grow and that is a great thing for physical media fans.

If their plan is to push everybody back to cable then I'm really bothered by that. Comcast's video output is downrezzed and compressed so badly it's like watching low-quality SD. Streaming content looks quite a bit better. I would probably go Prime + Netflix + Hulu if I could get all the shows I watch in commercial free form. Local network channels like CW are a problem. CBS is already it's own streaming service, can you imagine paying $10 each for ABC, NBC, and the CW? Then there are the cable channels to consider, I don't think Syfy offers current-year episodes on any streaming service and I watch a lot of their shows. |
