Went through the a Hermick Charnel area last night and opened all of the shortcuts. Got to the witches, but didn't fight them since it was late and I had to get up early for work. I'll probably kill them tonight, then head to the Forest.

I don't understand how it can be their fourth game in the series and the online is still pretty much broken. (it's not my settings) Level 137
I'm going on 3+ hours now searching for a game to play..either invading or co-op...NOTHING!!!! Got into 3 games and 2 of the people I invaded quit.
Seriously...what's the point? They don't give us the option of lowering our stats and the whole point of grinding is to level up and then nothing? Really frustrated with this game. Thought it would have been different than the others but if you had to wait 1 hour in between games on COD or BF4 chaos would ensue.

What irks me the most is that they will nerf weapons and items BECAUSE of co-op. They will change the weapon stats and things like that...for who? For those dummies duping items and running around OP'd at level 80?

Really is a shame..officially 60 mins now since my last online game and still haven't found anything in 5 different areas.

I cleared that area out last night really quick and easy on NG+. Not bragging Derb, it's just I noticed your insight is at freakin' 99! That makes the game even harder and throughout the level those monsters that the boss summons will pop up sometimes. At least they did in my original play through when I had over 20 insight. Unless you really enjoy the challenge, spend that insight hahaha. I figured I went through the game the first time with absolutely no help from other players and my insight was always high, this 2nd run through I'm keeping my insight around 10-15 if I can help it.

Nice! You did that tactic I mentioned earlier where you wait to strike after he's coughing up those little flame bursts.

On another note. Last night I killed Darkbeast Paarl on NG+ and I must say his alternate version in the Dungeons, "Beast of Loran" is much much harder. Before I beat the game for the first time I spend hours trying to kill Beast of Loran and he's an *******. The big problem is the camera, when you get under him to attack it's hard to run out(towards his tail since the aoe doesn't reach that far from his back)without getting caught on his legs. I was thinking Paarl would be just as hard on NG+ but I one shotted him again. Paarl unlike Beast of Loran doesn't do that aoe nearly as much and it didn't seem to hurt as much either.

Update: after 80 hours with my inital game, and the advent of male pattern baldness thanks to the stress of Bloodborne, I still feel like a NOOB

Just realized the scythe is the burial blade. And here I thought I somehow managed to miss it...


NICE. Weapons looks BADASS


So all, do you want to add a Password to find each other for online co-op. Figured password of BLU would be appropriate

Yeah, I did not really find that area much harder, either, in NG+, but I'm probably 100 levels higher than I was the first time through. Derb is probably the same level with tougher enemies. My insight had been at 99 for quite some time. It's only just now back to 91, because I spent some on the Bone Ash outfit for it's superior fire resistance. I don't really think it makes things more difficult, just a few more enemies pop up in specific locations.

The online aspect, to me, has been unclear. They indicated in past Souls games that someone invading you cannot be like 20 levels higher

Being how everything is a mystery with these games it's never been clear as to what level can invade or be invaded. But the problem is with the dupe glitch guys can have all weapons at +10 where as you are still looking for blood chunks.

Also others can have cleared the game and gotten things you don't have or have not even seen yet.

The difference with every other MP game is that all levels have the same weapons so it's always a level playing field. Not so with these games.

Yeah you might have stronger gun from a DLC or something to that extent but it's never OP'd compared to the newbie who just put the game in for the first time.

Even at this Lvl I only found 2 online matches since my last post.

The Scythe is going to be my weapon of choice going forward I think, but I just wish I could have gotten it before the fight with Gehrman

The Blade of Mercy is very nice and incredibly fast (and I got it to a S scaling at level 9 - which is weird as it's not supposed to happen until lvl 10), but it has way too little stagger imo.
The cane ends up being better imo in most cases, as while a bit slower it has more stagger, a bit more dmg per swing, and more importantly the trick form (whip) extends the range quite a bit whereas the Blades are only short range in either forms.

Using the blade in dual wield form is really cool though, and tearing up through something with it very satisfying.

Got Wet Nurse last night, and killed Gehrman (twice, so the first two endings) ... but the Moon Presence ended up confusing me with her heal block ability, so I decided to get to bed after my second death.
I'll get her tonight, I'm pretty sure I know how to get her (staying close by and behind as much as possible, and messing her up whenever she drops me to 1hp with her death ray to get HPs back).

BLU would be fine, wouldn't mind trying some Chalice co op.
Are levels a possible restriction (how far appart can people be?)

I think we can group up using passwords for chalice dungeons, only at bosses though.

I'd be willing to team up in defiled, trying to get past it

It wasn't that bad but the enemies were more aggressive & instead of hauling ass to the boss, I try & take out every single enemy. Those big guys that magically appear in Hemwick are a pain if you try & take them on with an Org & a witch.

I don't see how higher insight makes enemies tougher, not yet.

As Jsteinhauer mentioned, I guess Insight doesn't make the enemies harder but it can make new ones appear, like those big guys in Hemwick.

I think you need a certain something for co-op Dungeons.

Some advice when you are in there. Don't get mad when you die. Remember you have half your HP throughout all 3 layers. Keep an eye on your health, if you have a health Rune, equip it for gods sake!

I bought the Bone Ash Gear because I knew I didn't have the hat. Then I look in my attire & I have double Bone Ash attire of everything.

There should be more attire & weapons I think & hopefully this game will see DLC.

I think my next task is Forbidden Woods. I talked to a lot of NPC's

-Got Ol Lady to go to the Chapel. She is there.
-Got the little girl to go to the Chapel. Yeah she ain't there.
-Got the prostitute to go to the Chapel. She is there.
-The guy across the way from her, I sent to Chapel. He ain't there.

About online PvP & Co-op,

What happens to your items if you die in PvP?
In Co-op, can you join others regardless of level?

There is some good stuff to buy for insight, & I probably should be spending it because it is a waste when you are at 99 & then kill something which gives you... Nothing instead of more.

I would be shocked if From Software didn't include DLC. They did for both Dark Souls games.

Just remember that the NPC in the Woods is a cannibal.

The guy across from the prostitute will go to the opposite place you tell him to go. You sent him to the Chapel, he went to the clinic and is now dead. My first play through I sent him to the clinic and he shows up at the Chapel saying he doesn't trust me. On NG+ I sent him to the Chapel and he hasn't shown up hahaha.

Next boss will be Shadow of Yharnam. Kill the beggar in the woods for a transformation rune that is better than the one you find, if you have need for such things. I have tried the beast pills, but they don't seem to have an effect. That beggar is a tough fight. You can just leave him there.
