I have 3D TV's - But I prefer to watch in VR with my Quest 3 Headset. I rip 3DBR and use a dedicated PC just for my 3D Collection. I stream on Bigscreen VR as a Public Room and enter my own on Q3 to watch 3D Films with others

I am currently trying out a Valerion Pro 2. I also have an old 55 inch Philips TV downstairs with active shutter glasses, and while the picture of my oled in my living room is definitely better, the immersion of the projector just can't be beat.

I sure as hell want to watch movies like Mission Impossible Fallout and the Transformers Movies on the biggest screen possible.

I briefly tested a different projector before, and found the other projector better in terms of the 3D capabilities.

That's why i LOVE and prefer the Live- Action 3D releases from Turbine.
It's really like going to the movies again, just at home in my living room.

It's so awesome, that having a great home theater has become super affordable in recent years. Even for 2000$/€ you can have a great 3D setup with a good soundbar+surrounds, a sub, a screen and a 3D capable projector.

Of course, there is more or less no upper limits, where using a Trinnov Pre-Amp, Macintosh Amps, JTR speakers and subs a JVC NZ900/ Barco/Christie/Sony GTZ380 and a maskable Stewart screen in a custom installed Theater will cost probably something in the 6-digit range, but while that's awesome, it's just not necessary to have a great theater experience at home.

I should have bought my projector WAY sooner.

Can't imagine to how great it will be to rewarch "Jurassic World: Rebirth" at home on the big screen, once we (hopefully) get the Turbine release.
There were only regular showings in my theater, and none of them in English. At least they offered the 3D version, which was great.
Can't wait!!
I usually watch the 3D movies on my LG 42LW5500 TV, but recently I bought a PSVR1 to try and watch on my laptop. The PSVR1 sucks big time comparing it to my TV. There is almost none separation between the layers on 3D movies.

Yeah, that is why I use my rule to be at 1,5 times distant of the TV's diameter.

That way the TV is really big.

I use a Epson 5050 projector on a 120inch screen. Prior to that I had a 60 inch LCD TV. The difference was like night and day in terms of enjoyment of 3D. Given today's world, not sure there's a lot of TVs you can still buy that offer 3D even as an option. The downside is no Dolby Vision support for 4K viewing.

Without a resurgence of 3D support, not sure I'd ever go back to a TV unless 3D somehow became impossible to buy replacement/new hardware that supports it.

I have sampled a couple on my PSVR headset, but the screen door effect spoils the experience. Stick to my projector or older bedroom tv.

Projector Optoma UHD55 + Bluray player Panasonic DP-UB820

I also watched a movie on a friend's 3D TV, and I also have a Quest 3. My favorite experience by far is the video projector.

Like many on here I watch in Virtual Reality. Being able to watch 3D movies on a cinema sized screen is awesome. I am 100% certain that 3D movies will look great on a large projector screen. The larger the screen, the better the 3D. But unless you have a have laser projector, then for the best picture quality, I'm "not sure" that anything can match a large VR OLED screen. If you somehow get access to a good condition LG 4K Passive 3D OLED TV, that would be the next best option after VR, or maybe even the best option. Add an Atmos home audio system, a subwoofer (and maybe a tactile transducer) and you are pretty much set.

It's funny that when I no longer had my 3D TV, I kinda always knew (or maybe strongly hoped) some technolgoy would come to allow me to watch 3D again. So I kept on buying 3D discs and here we are with VR

Already pre-ordered Puss In Boots 2 and Fast X. Thank you Turbine

I use a PSVR and sometimes my 15.6" Acer SpatialLabs screen. They work for me! The PSVR especially has great depth. About to try using the PSVR 2 PC adapter to try and get better color and resolution - PSVR resolution can be a little underwhelming, to say the least. But, I am surprised to hear of a depth issue. Seeing The Walk through it almost made me dizzy!

I watch all mine on a JVC NZ7 projector I bought 4 or so years ago on a 135" 16:9 screen and it's the only 3D capable device I have in my house at this point. I had a 3D Panasonic Plasma but my now 6 year old threw a water bottle at it and broke it a few years ago. That was a sad day. I've tried putting ads out to try to buy a used LG 3D OLED, but never any hits. I've also kept my eye out for other marketplace 3D TV's to grab for the bedroom, but I haven't found anything worth it. I had a PSVR I tried out a bit but it wasn't for me with the heavy SDE ruining the experience for me.

I was able to minimize SDE with my old Oculus Quest. My new device, the Play for Dream MR has its issues, but SDE is not one of them and maybe it has the best contrast and colors for a consumer VR device. It's certainly the best I've seen by far. I'm including the AVP in my "supposition" after what I learned recently about the panels being used by both devices. But this ain't the thread for that discussion.

BTW Thank you Turbine (again) lol

A regular projector is far superior to VR for 3D, it’s not even close. Don’t forget, there is always magnification with VR, that alone degrades the image.

Not really, some have limited means to watch 3D and it’s not good if they think VR is going to be a better experience than a projector. It simply isn’t true.

Also, People have been talking about it for the last couple of pages, why is it the ‘wrong thread’ when I discuss it?

I love that everyone here has different ways to enjoy watching 3D movies.

What do you guys think the next batch will be?
Im sticking to my previous guess and say Wicked, Transformers One and The Wild Robot.

I'll also hold off on buying this time, because i want to save on shipping since i don't care that much for the Trolls movie.

I am curious what else is there that hasn't been released yet from Universal (and Paramount).

I’m obviously grateful for any new releases, but I would like more older titles to get some attention.

Examples include:
• Jackass 3 (2010)
• Ben-Hur (2016)
• Trolls (2016)
• Captain Underpants (2017)
• Sherlock Gnomes (2018)
• Wonder Park (2019)
• The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge On the Run (2020)
• Rumble (2021)

The last two aren’t that old, but most of these feel less likely to be chosen as more newer 3D movies are added to the list.

Pretty high on my personal whishlist is Missing Link (2019), and a release could coincide with the theatrical release of their next movie (Wildwood (2026)) - but they haven't even released a 4k disk yet.

I'd love to see more Paramount releases.

I understand that Universal has a far better library than Paramount but if there were more titles to present on the table it would be good.

If you look at my post before yours, you will see me make the point that this is the wrong thread. That was my way of trying to stop this thread filled with this exact type of conversation. Also my comments about Projectors has a reasonable caveat which maybe you missed along with my point about this being the wrong thread
