Congrats RB951
Callas01: I originally ordered an ed a2-300, and then decided to get a3-300, partially because it was in stock and could be shipped out immediately. I think it's their strategy to lure you in first, and let the wait tempt you into spending more.

Just got my wiring from Monoprice today and will set up my speakers tonight. I am going to set them up manually and not bother with the audyssey setup until they are broken in (100 hours) and my sub gets here. I will also use a Rat Shack SPL meter to fine tune the Audyssey settings and to adjust the sub per BD's commands in his numerous sub posts.

I also purchased one of these

The orange light turned on a month into my ownership. Brett at eD quickly sent out a replacement. Since then no problems. They defnitely take care of any issues, but I sure hope they can have better quality control on the amp suppliers.

my a2-300 has gone over 8 months w/o issues...knock on wood...

the a3s-250 hasn't had any hiccups so far either. for every person that reports an issue here, you probably have ten that are perfectly satisfied...

watched 9 last night based on what you guys were saying, I am glad I did, that was a cool movie. It was just me watching it, my wife watched some before falling asleep, but she liked what she saw.

Also, the music, I love Danny Elfmans music. All his music and orchestra music is always awesome. If you all remember he was the main guy in Oingo Boingo(Weird Science movie theme song for those not in the know). Anyways, he does lots of Tim Burton music.

SOooo How is the sound?

The spikes are supposed to help with Isolation, although, honestly I cannot say that I notice a sound difference.
Went ahead with original setup (C-300 as center) and the system sounds great especially for music. I'm sure it will sound even better when speakers break in, I calibrate it and get the sub setup (bass definitely lacking). I set fronts to full and the rest to small with a crossover of 60Hz. I will set all to small when I get the sub and probably keep the crossovers set at 60Hz. What do you think?

Denon 1910 does a great job with video inputs (video looks great) and sounds good to boot. It is, however, a little difficult figuring out how to assign inputs even with Batpig's guide but I got it now A little disappointed to find that I couldn't use the s-video input as it is reserved exclusively for an I-pod dock.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site. It has made the transition for this noob relatively painless. I came here looking for Blu-rays reviews and ended up with a new system. Go figure

Add me to a long list of satisfied Energy owners...I have 4 C-200's, ESW-V8 sub, and just recently replaced my C-C50 with a CC-10. I wasn't happy with the sound coming out of it...seemed underpowered compared to the bookshelves. The new one pairs nicely with the C-C200's, and I got it for cost!

I was thinking of getting 2 CF-50's for the fronts and maybe replacing my STR-DE820 with something that has a bit more oomph (and bi-amping), but I am not sure how much of an improvement that will make since my setup is in a fairly small area. The TV and front's/centre are about 5ft or so away from the seating area, so would the CF-50's be overkill?

Crossing over depends on what sounds best to you and in your room. I prefer the 70hz for all my speakers. It keeps me from localizing the Sub and gives the fronts enough bass to sound excellent and well rounded.

Congrats, I am glad you found some excellent speakers that match your tastes.

Nice setup. If you are happy with the CC-10 you may find that the CF-50s would be a nice compliment to it. Slimmer uses CF-50s and loves them. I think you would find a Marantz receiver to give you all the power you would need and probably you wouldn't need to biamp, which I can't say will give you improved quality.

They look like RC-30s [tweeter surround only about an inch scant of the woofers] which makes me jealous. I went with 10s for surrounds, and now I sorta wished I had gone 30s.

But do they [the RC-70s] sound good backed up to the wall like that?

Wow! Awesome gear vitalius24!! That must rock living room really well! I wish I could afford (or have the room) to use all floor standing speakers for my system. Well done! I always enjoy seeing fellow RC owners on the forum.
