Believe me, I'd love to see OSU/FSU. I just don't think the "experts" who seem to want an all-SEC finale every year are going to let the SEC get shut out.

That leaves 3 at-larges. Alabama is definitely in. Oregon and Baylor would be the next 2 assuming no upsets in the conference titles.

CU to the Orange. It's not difficult to figure out as long as FSU wins the ACC. Looks like a possible matchup with Bama. That should end well.

I'm not so sure Auburn beats Mizzu either. That should be a fun game.

I was just looking at the current strength of schedule rankings. For as much grief as OSU gets for their terrible SOS, FSU is actually a bit worse. Here's the current SOS.

FSU - 64th
Ohio St. - 61st
Auburn - 16th
Alabama - 37th
Missouri - 26th

I think it could come down to "how" each team wins their conf title game. If OSU dominates MSU I think they're in. If Ohio St. were to win 17-16 and Auburn destroys Missouri 38-10 we'd probably have Auburn in.

They are #2 in points/game scored in college football, and #1 in points/game against.

Hard to argue with that.

ACC and Orange Bowl have a relationship so CU will go. CU will also sell more tickets than Oregon who have to travel across the country. I'm not saying CU deserves it but that's what will happen.

BCS standings are out. Boy does Sagarin's ranking system hate Auburn. Only one computer moved Auburn ahead of OSU.

It sounds like with their season over USC wants to fill their coaching vacancy soon. Kevin Sumlin signed a new deal with Texas A&M over the weekend so he's no longer a candidate, and Dan Patrick said on his radio show this morning that he heard that there was mutual interest initially but that USC had cooled on Sumlin and was unlikely to hire him, and he knew that when he signed his extension with A&M. Boise State's Chris Peterson withdrew his name from consideration this morning. ESPN has reported that Vanderbilt coach James Franklin is the frontrunner for the job, but CBS' Bruce Feldman says that's inaccurate. Washington coach Steve Sarkisian has already interviewed for the job, according to ESPN.

What the hell would it take for Chris Peterson to leave Boise? I would like to see what he could do with a top recruiting class. Then I know Steve Sarkisian has ties to SC but I hate it when coaches leave for another school in conference.

I think Sarkisian is a fantastic hire for USC, he will win a ton of football games for them. What he has done at Washington is pretty impressive. They were an 0-12 team when he took over.

Bruce Feldman expects Washington to look at current Washington defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox, Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter, Boise State's Chris Petersen and UCLA head coach Jim Mora. I don't know why Petersen would consider the job. He's been rumored for a lot better jobs than Washington. It just seems like any time a major west coast job is open Petersen's name is thrown out. I understand that Mora is a Washington alum but I can't see him leaving UCLA. At UCLA he's building a strong team that could eventually be a national title contender. As Washington you're never going to be more than an 8 or 9 win team.
