This triple feature finally put me over 1,000!

I was hoping to hit 1,000 for the New Year, but I missed it by a week.

I got to 1025 at some point, but I’ve largely had to stop since I became disabled and haven’t been able to work for about a year and a half.

Represent! Yeah I counted and only bought/got as gifts 35 movies this year. It’s probably for the best to only be buying what I’d consider must-haves... And it’s also kind of sad that that’s considered an extremely dry year, hahaha

Wow was only 2 months ago I hit 1800! and I have just ticked over 1915 after all the pre and post Christmas sales and spending sprees... I definitely think I need a self imposed ban way I am going will hit 2000 before June, perhaps ill see if I can make it to end of year before hitting the big one. I am seriously running out of room also...

You are at 5,343 now. So ~400 BD's in 2 months? That's incredible.

Yeah, I've been averaging almost 200 blu-rays a month for the past fifteen months. Ridiculous, huh?

My pace of buying is finally slowing, because I've caught up with every distributor sans Olive Films.

Truth be told, I'm fortunate. I had a financial windfall about a year ago. That's when I started catching up on a decade of blu-ray releases I'd fallen behind on.

I'm falling way behind watching new titles, even though I try and watch at least one movie a day. I spent most of December working on a screenplay, so that certainly didn't help.

Obviously OT, but the screenplay, Stampede, was just announced as a quarter-finalist at the Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Competition. It's my second screenplay, and the first time I've placed in a contest, so I'm stoked! For the aspiring writers on this site, don't quit if your first script doesn't succeed. The first one is a learning experience. Keep writing! God knows, the industry needs more original ideas. Sometimes I wonder if there are other aspiring screenwriters on blu-ray.com, trapped in the corner of some darkened broom closet, burning the midnight oil, maniacally pounding at the keys.

Also, I blame the Great Owl for my collecting boon. He's way too enthusiastic when he writes movie reviews. It's damn infectious.

A recent order from Twilighttimemovies.com put me over the 1200 mark. Wow ... I never thought I would have so many. Still, there's no end in sight.

The order included: Chato's Land, Eureka, Stanley & Iris and the movie I'll put as #1200, Chilly Scenes of Winter (which I bought mostly to see Gloria Grahame and John Heard's performances).
