The picture on the Amazon site appears to show a slipcover for the limited edition as well. I have no idea which is accurate.

You must not have looked very hard. Here's a write up from the IMDB page.

I caved in and ordered the LE. Haven't seen Nightbreed in a very long time so I figured why not. $55 is just a warmup for this fall's bluray spending.

It's supposed to be a slip box that house the 2 Blu-ray cases.

If Shout Factory broke their license agreements with the studios they wouldn't be getting the rights to many more films.

So after 30 years of collecting, Nightbreed at $56 is now the most expensive single movie I ever bought. Even in my Laser days, I never spent more than $50 on a single film (Which is why I never owned many Critrion lasers, only the ones priced $50 or less).

Damn, you're right. I didn't see that before. Well, that kinda stinks, if that's what it is. I was hoping for a more unique and sturdy slipcase for the Limited Edition as it appeared to have in the original promo image, especially considering the cost.

Huh? Two Blu-ray cases? I thought it was just one blu-ray case (holding three discs) and a book.

There was a Facebook post that mentioned it. I'm guessing the first case will be the same as the standard release, and the extra case will have the theatrical disc and the extras disc.

Well, if that is the case (no pun intended), then they should have just made it a four disc set and include the DVD copy of the Director's Cut like the regular Special Edition will have.

EDIT... Hold on a second... according to Amazon, it is coming with a DVD copy! So that must mean that the Theatrical Cut and all the Bonus Features will probably be together on one disc, which is not how it was originally solicited.

The LE is a 3 BD set. It probably comes with a DVD of the DC like the standard release.

It's up on amazon.ca for $85. They have a tenancy to drop their prices closer to release date. I've pre-ordered it on amazon.com and amazon.ca and then if it drops to a lower price that beats paying for the shipping and import fees on .com then I'll go with that one.

I'm a little mad I ordered. It's bullshit that Cliff's refusing to put back in the original audio.
Heck if you're that lazy pay the actors to come in and do voice overs..... These aren't big stars..... I'm sure they'd be happy to do it.
If you just do subtitles that's literally the cheapest/laziest thing I've ever heard of.....

It's complete bullshit to say the audio would take longer than the video. Sure it would take longer, but I guarantee I could do it..... It would just be delayed a couple months..... They should have two teams. One editing visual, and then one doing the audio.... Heck I'd do it for free if they fed me.....
This is just Shout Factory being lazy like usual. When will they ever care about the quality of their releases?

Kind of Surpised the Amazon CA price is so high, however I can't imagine they are getting a huge # of copies. I would guess US amazon got 1,000 copies and if Shout sold 2,200 and will more than likely keep a few more for their site sales. diabolik how many you think they get to sell? 500?

I doubt there will be any more price drops and i think the limited will be Sold Out before release date. I honestly can't imagine US amazon Qtys lasting much longer.

I know, that's what I'm saying. Originally, though, it was solicited like this...

Quote:
LIMITED EDITION SET: Only 5,000 numbered sets produced

Disc 1: Unrated Director’s Cut of the film on Blu-ray

Disc 2: The 1990 R-Rated theatrical version of the film on Blu-ray (through a special licensing agreement through Warner Bros.)

Disc 3: EXCLUSIVE-TO-THIS-SET Bonus Blu-ray disc packed with extras (details forthcoming)

Includes Collector’s Book with an essay and rare photos

Slipcase includes newly designed artwork approved by Clive Barker

But now it's looking more like:

Disc 1: Unrated Director’s Cut of the film on Blu-ray

Disc 2: Unrated Director’s Cut of the film on DVD

Disc 3: The 1990 R-Rated theatrical version of the film AND EXTRAS on Blu-ray

Includes Collector’s Book with an essay and rare photos

Slipcover includes newly designed artwork approved by Clive Barker

Keep in mind that the subtitles thing was just for the few scenes that weren't in the Cabal cut, they do have VHS audio for all the stuff that was in the Cabal cut. It'll be up to Clive Barker whether he even wants any of those extra scenes in his director's cut or if the director's cut will be an edited-down Cabal cut...in any case I got the impression that most of the "find" was just the original film that they previously just had the VHS workprint version of, and that they only found a few things not in the Cabal cut.

Also, Cliff's argument wasn't just that it'd take longer, but it'd cost a lot more to hire someone to go through all that audio and Shout Factory is too small to afford spending that much more money. Getting volunteers might be problematic unless the volunteers were professionals, since they'd be entrusting them with the original elements...maybe they should have done a kickstarter or something to hire a professional, though.

Where did you see this? It would be extremely disappointing if they put the extras on the same disc as the theatrical cut. For this price, I expect a BD50 full of extras.

Just go with what Shout originally posted stating 3 BLU discs. We don't get a DVD coaster with the limited edition :-( (the artwork on the side case has a DVD logo but I don't trust that Shout has made mistakes on preliminary artwork before) amazon info can always be sketchy at best. also I believe it will be a SlipBOX for the limited.

I didn't see this, but using the powers of deduction, that's the only way it can be if this is to only be a 3 disc set. You said it yourself, that they will probably include the DVD copy like the standard addition will have. Well then, that means the Theatrical Cut and the Extras will most likely be on the same disc in order for it to stay at only 3 discs. Right?

Well, obviously Shout and Amazon need to update which way it'll be.

And yeah, I'm hoping for the Slipbox, as you say. I know some people use the terms Slipcover and Slipcase interchangeably, but when I think Slipcase, I'm thinking more like Slipbox.
