This happened after an all the way off. I never use rest mode on either of my systems. It's actually happened more than I'd like to admit and is not solely related to this update.

OK so I thought I was in the clear reinstalling 2.00 via safe mode and a thumb drive. Nope problem eventually persists.. Came back last night. Now I'm pissed, if Xbox One comes out with a hard line bundle this spring or late winter I might consider my options. This is ridiculous, what if someone really screws up they're HDD pulling the plug? And as far as I know there had been nothing from Sony on this issue

Probably the best advise for everyone even if they are not having this issue.

I Have not had a single PS4 hiccup since launch until now. Sony has to be fully aware of this & are likely working on a fix as I type this. When people were bugging Sony when would the 2.00 update have a release date Sony answered that they do not like to give that info out because things change & they wouldn't want to be caught on a promise they couldn't keep. That said, Sony really should have beta tested this update with a sign-in program. Surely these issues would have been addressed before the release of the update & if they had to post-pone the update, good for everyone in the long term.

These quick fixes are nothing but temp fixes ala.. Safe Mode (Which re-installs the exact same update & all the problems that come with) -- Pulling the power cord after the system is off & pressing the power button on the console for a few seconds & then plugging the cord back in & doing a re-boot. End of these fixes still result in a pulsating Orange light in Rest Mode.

My main reason for not playing along with Rest Mode is the fact that rebuilding your storage saved data is not 100% - I've done this 4 times now & the fact I have not got corrupted data is simply "Luck"

Sony should start a beta test program like MS has for the X1. They may not release updates as much as MS but they sure need beta testers.

Happened again this morning. Between this and my Xbox always needing an update every time I turn it on I'm starting to get really pissed at the little things this gen. I keep my X1 off because the power brick fan run at 100% when in instant on/standby mode.

That's odd. Other than the once a month update that MS releases like clockwork, I haven't experienced the "always needing an update every time I turn it on" like you have.

maybe thats because you keep yours in standby and the updates happen with out you knowing it.....

You are right Steel, MS only release's updates once a month unless you are in the beta program. Whether you are keeping it in standby mode or not. If you are in the beta program and don't like the updates I'm sure you can opt out.

This. I should have been more clear. Im in the beta program and theyll release an update aroung 260MB, then an update to that the same size and somtimes a 1.2GB all during the same month. Then you have to update individual apps like the video player because god forbid they update them with the system. Sure they're only 32MB but lately live has been damned slow and even these take over 15 minutes to update (wired connection). Ive been really considering opting out but I always think Ill get a random email with an offer as thanks so I keep it active.

That's why I never signed up for it. I figured it would be better to just wait and get the updates when they were ready.

Anyone having problems with the "application error" notice? I had never experienced it before but last night it happened to me about 5 times while playing Sleeping Dogs and TLOU. Im just in the middle of the game and it just cuts me off, brings me to the XMB and there is a message on the screen that says "application error, try again later" and I have to start the game over

Digital games or regular? I've always had issues with the system authorizing my digital Destiny a lot of times. I'll launch it and it says I don't have the rights to play it. I'm sure it's trying to ping PSN but it's about 50% of the time.

My ps4 recently broke so I plugged in the good old ps3... I forgot how many features it has compared to the ps4... PS4 really needs to get its stuff together...

Have not had that problem (although I don't have either of those games) however I do have an issue with the game #KillAllZombies where the trophies are not showing up. I sent a message on twitter to the devs @BeatShapers, and they said they had let Sony know as a few people had hit them up about the same thing.

In my notifications I have one trophy notification for the game but when I select it it gives me an error.

Last night I logged in to play some Zen Pinball 2 and there was a lock on the game saying that the content had expired. (?!?!?!?!?).

I then went into the store to re-download it, and it said it was already installed, and then I went back to the game and the lock was gone.
