DV on Plex been working fine in the last 3 to 4 weeks for me. Re-analyze your entire library and use the browser to check info on the files. It should display DV information if the file contains DV metadata. Also, check the version on your Plex media player & server.

The minimum version required on Plex Android player is 8.8.0. If you have it on your Shield Pro 2019 then try force quitting the app and then reload. I.e., kill the process and then relaunch.

Unfortunately I don't have Plex but all my rips are from MakeMKV version that supports saving of DV layer. Just use Vero 4K+ OSMC media player for my full fat 1:1 mkv rips.

since the price has already dropped $20 in less then a week after release I'm guessing it's not selling well?...so does this increase the chance of a Black Friday price drop this year?

I doubt it has to do with how it's selling. Someone dropped the price and everyone followed their lead to not lose sales.

The Battle of Blackwater is the brightest sequence thus far.

It was EYE SEARING!

Bass response was supreme as well.

Default Steel book vs non steel book

Can someone tell me what the difference between the steel book and the other set that's on amazon is other than the case and included artwork I'm guessing ?

Thanks

It's alright, he does that with everything that drops in price, heads straight on over to "it must be selling terribly!".

The discs are exactly the same, only difference is the packaging.

Is this set a huge improvement over the 1080p Blu-ray? Also, are these freezing issues I'm reading about a big deal?

Amazon UK have increased the price by £49.99, guess it's flying off the shelves over here Either that or Amazon UK are going to put it in the Black Friday deals.

Per improvement over the 1080p, I would say it is a big improvement. Season 1 episode 1 was kind of meh PQ-wise (to me). But from there on, I would say the PQ is highly satisfactory. I am only on season 2 episode 4.

why do always start an argument with every post?...yesterday you implied that me buying digital (while leaving out the fact that I also buy physical discs) implies that I somehow am not a fan of physical media...I buy both physical and digital media...

not all movies are worth a physical disc purchase, it's as simple as that...if you're obsessed with discs that you need to buy every average or crappy movie on disc then that's your preference...no need to force it on everyone else...if that somehow gets your knickers in a twist I don't know what to tell you

Thanks, I just ordered the steel from Best buy. Hopefully it arrives undamaged. I never order steels online, but all of the BB's near me are sold out, and I refuse to pay $200 for the regular version with stacked discs. It's funny, I didn't pre-order the steel because in the past, the BB steels have been the ones with stacked discs, now it's the other way around.

After going through the new set, I would like to rate the 4k video quality of each season of Game of Thrones:

Season 1: 3.5/5.0 (B)
Season 2: 4.0/5.0 (B+)
Season 3: 4.5/5.0 (A-)
Season 4: 5.0/5.0 (A)
Season 5: 5.0/5.0 (A)
Season 6: 5.0/5.0 (A+) *
Season 7: 5.0/5.0 (A)
Season 8: 5.0/5.0 (A)

I'm very happy with the improvements with some reservations with Season 1. While the 4k image for the first season looks great by itself, the differences over the standard Blu-ray were marginal. But as each season got bigger budgets with improved camera/editing equipments, the 4k improvements became more substantial with Season 6 being the absolute peak with near perfect detail and perfect HDR color. Season 7 & 8 look outstanding if not as jaw-dropping as Season 6. I'm not sure if Season 4-8 are Native 4k transfers but reports from some sources say that they are while the first three seasons are definitely upscales.

As far as the ATMOS audio goes, all seasons get a perfect A+ grade. This show will rock your HT room!!
