I had Bad Boys on my DVR a while back but deleted it because the first film wasn't on the schedule any time soon...then a month later the first played and I had deleted the second
I do a search for it every once in a while and I'll record it next time it plays.

Same for Pearl Harbor.

I went over to my cousin's house tonight and the people there decided they wanted to watch a movie. I voted 500 Days of Summer, the others voted She's Out of My League.

I thought it was ok. Some good laughs sometimes but not hilarious throughout.

There wasn't really anything stand out about it to me though. It was just ok throughout the majority of the movie.

And...well, that pretty much sums it up actually. "OK"

I'd never watch it again.

really? wow. i thought he did a great job. sure, there were a few scenes where maybe he went overboard a bit, but nothing i would call "atrocious". you know the best way to fix this, DJ? add it to your queue. now.

I'd never watch it again. <--------------- and that never would happen with (500) Days of Summer!

alright Diesel!
these, friends of your cousin need to learn that when an instant classic is in the discussion, you don't choose the other option

you better teach them to choose better next time!

well, once it ended, and actually before it ended, i knew i wouldn't be keeping it. Kick-Ass has some good moments and good pieces, but overall it just left me very

+ the super "ultra violence" (see what i did there? ) gore, action and chaos was great fun. lots of laughs, "holy ***!" moments and some (but not always) awesome music go along with it. the girl found it "ridiculously cheesy" at times, but i enjoyed the bloody fun kills

+ the very attractive Lyndsy Fonseca. too bad she didn't get more screen time, and we all got stuck watching McLovin in a leather red suit with a Madonna wig

+ the soundtrack. i'd say it was 85% awesome / genius. really added to the film and certain scenes. i felt it was the best part of the film actually.

+ Nicolas Cage i tend to enjoy all of Cage's work / roles (aside from a few certain films ) and i enjoyed him here. but again, wish he had more screen time.

i also felt the film was way too long, the story was something we've seen six million times and no amount of bloody good kills can make up for that, and the acting by Aaron Johnson was mediocre at best. i understand it was his first major role, but he was written as a mix between Michael Cera & Jesse Eisenberg, but not nearly as commanding, quirky or awkward as those two.

and a question to those who are big fans of the film (foggy, i'm looking in your direction )
[Show spoiler]is Red Mist now "Orange Mist"? and i'm guessing he's going to be the main villain for the sequel (which seems like a terrible idea unless they go in a more comedic route than action / serious route). but is he Orange Mist now? he can't be Red Mist if he's dressed in all orange. can he?

PQ: 4/5

Kick-Ass was fun to watch once, but it's not really my type of film, aside from about 5-6 scenes i was pretty bored and uninterested, didn't care what happened to any of the characters (even though i liked Big Daddy best, when
[Show spoiler]he died, i didn't really care
) and couldn't wait for it to end so i could watch something i liked. worth a rental if you've got nothing else you really want to see.

2.5/5

less then 2 hours is not long for a movie at all these days.. and there has never been a movie like this.. a super hero movie with no super powers.. it just doesnt exist, i respect your opinion but disagree completely; it was my favorite movie of the year and one of my favorites of all time.. the acting was great Aaron Johnson cannot be compared to Eisenberg or Cera in any way.. i just dont see it.. but to each of their own and yes John Murphy's score on this was amazing

Lots of people put The Thin Red Line ahead of The New World, it's an awesome war film with some badass action scenes

I loved The Thin Red Line when I saw it recently, whereas I really liked The New World. I haven't seen it in a long time though, well over a year now so I need to watch it again soon. I loved Days of Heaven as well, I need to watch that again. Definitely check out DoH, but I'm thinkin it might be the same as TNW for you. A lot of people find it quite boring.

i see where you're coming from as well. but i would've
[Show spoiler]ended things before they POSSIBLY got worse.
and would you be able to
[Show spoiler]live with yourself if you and your boy are walking through the mist and you two get attacked by spiders (or any other creatures) and he dies a slow, miserable death as he's screaming for you to help and save him?
and would that be worse to live with than
[Show spoiler]shooting him and having him suffer no pain?
i know you're coming from the perspective of
[Show spoiler]thinking there is hope, and not death around every corner. but you have to imagine he thought of that, especially when he promised his son he wouldn't let the monsters get him.
Squid and I had a little discussion earlier, check out those posts and you'll see what we would have done in the same situation.

i know it was less than 2 hours. but it felt like 4 . i kept looking at the clock wondering, "okay... this has been playing for how long? how much time can possibly be left?" and it felt like other super hero movies simply because there is someone who either finds their powers / or wants powers and goes through trials and tribulations, then basks in his secret glory, finds a really bad person he must contend with (even this is done by other characters really), falls in love with a girl who is out of his reach, and then comes and
[Show spoiler]saves the day
. while not necessarily the same, the general outline was and it felt very bland even with all the "pizzazz" (no, not the pizza maker ) around it (gory, fun kills, ultra violence, awesome score...). and maybe Johnson isn't necessarily Cera or Eisenberg, but he definitely resembles a very tired, older Harry Potter.

I have to agree.

Look at Lex Luther. Superman's worse enemy! No superpowers but his money and technology made him a very dangerous person!

I wasn't referring to who the characters where or any of that, that's why I specifically put the part about a superhero movie without superpowers not existing in bold

but Kick-Ass
[Show spoiler]saved the day at the end. he saved Hit-Girl. so he did do something right and he overcame his fear and told Katie that he liked her. and that he wasn't gay ()
and i didn't hate the movie. just not my style and what i mainly enjoy and no
[Show spoiler]i wasn't a real big fan of The Hangover. i own it, yes (blind buy), but i'd probably give it a 3/5, maybe a 3.5/5? i haven't seen it in a long time.
and what does The Hangover have to do with it anyway?

As for my thoughts on this one, well, I have none since I haven't seen it

And I have absolutely zero interest. I've seen all the trailers, even a clip or two, and it just looks incredibly lame to me (no offense to anyone who likes it of course, different strokes for different folks and all that).

I know I'm probably Foggy's mortal enemy because of that, but I can take it
