That big of an order and your 4k collection only went from 4-16?

On a side note watched Apocalypto the other day(download from years ago). First time watch and I really enjoyed it and tracked down a copy since its OOP for $20.00. Pretty happy.

Thankfully, I think the format will be short lived though. I see huge similarities between it and ITunes MP3. Subscription dominates the music landscape and I see the exact same thing happening here. Digital HD will just sit there collecting (digital) dust.
Yeah shout is charging disney 4k MSRP prices for their movies. It's absurd.

I bought the The Thing 4k steel with a amazon giftcard and it was $37.xx after tax. I only did so because I'm not region free so could not pick up the Arrow. I hate region locking.

(sorry for the late response have not been in here)

Apocalypto is a great movie.

I ordered The Dark Crystal 4K from Walmart.com and it automatically redeemed at Vudu the instant I placed the order, but only in HDX, which seems odd as it is a 4k disc that I bought.

Are you happy about the rebirth of filmstruck as The Criterion Channel? I wonder if my TV's app store will ever offer it, but I am not holding my breath.

Yes it is and I dont mind that it was used.

I'm happy there will be an alternative in Spring.

But i'm sad that it's ending. I've been busy with Red dead 2 and netflix binges and reailzed I have 11 days and 160 movies in my filmstruck watchlist.

The deadline has given me too much anxiety to even start one.

I'll probably subscribe to the criterion standalone (already signed up to be a charter member) but then will cancel once i see how it combines with the warner media app.

edit: as for Dark Crystal it's UHD on fandangonow and itunes, so I always recommend redeeming on movies anywhere and then it will port to vudu in UHD if/when they add it.

Well, 20 altogether now. I just couldn’t be arsed to update. . I also plan on getting David Attenborough’s latest ‘Dynasties in 4K’. It’s going to be special.

A lot of my films have been bought through the smaller labels this year. Some HMV exclusives also that had no chance of a 4K version. I’m happy with 20 for now. I’m very particular about my purchases normally.

Apocalypto was my first Blu-ray. A treat for the eyes and a good film to boot. Mel Gibson sure knows how to direct a cracking action film.

I added 35 titles to my collection today with 10 more on the way. This has been an atypical month, but I am applying the brakes until December being the highly disciplined shopper that I am.

I am curious if you will take your foot off the brake to jump on any of the Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals, or if you will stay true to your proclamation. There are usually a handful of titles that I rented during the year which find their way into my collection during this time of year....but not 45 of them.

You could go for broke and buy this set of Charmed Seasons 5-8 on DVD that for some reason someone is trying to sell on Amazon for over $92,000, and for some reason this site's price tracking is showing as the "new lowest price."

This is real. I didn't edit the image.

But is it eligible for Prime shipping? No deal otherwise!

Someone would have to pay ME that much to own Charmed.

For US readers, Happy Thanksgiving Holidays. If traveling, be safe and drive defensively. Remember to signal and use those lights in the daytime.

I have bought 76 titles this month already; I think anymore deals might be hazardous to my health.

You have me confused with somebody else. I don't buy 'films on digital' and unlike, say you, I don't have any streaming accounts either. The closest I come to streaming is digital cable so until something like Black Mirror gets a blu-ray release somewhere I probably won't be watching it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

But you are a sympathiser. It only takes good men to do nothing.
