Yep, it's pretty good. I mean, I hate the UHE with a vengeance but the actual conversion is excellent for an auto-convert job, with convincing depth and separation and some decent particle effects. There are plenty of fill errors, admittedly, which could've been tidied up with a bit more attention to detail, but again we come round to the fact that it's an auto-convert. As such, it's easily the best of Fox's cheapy conversions so far. (It's just a shame that they had to use that diabolical UHE master, at times it's like watching a ****ing Madame Tussauds exhibit come to life.)

^ I agree with what he said,it def. is the best i have seen the movie look so far. The 3d for the most part was good with a few scenes that was flat but def better 3d than i expected. Def doesn't look like the waxy version and wasn't grainy either, just a nice conversion. I did not watch the 2d version so i can't give a opinion on it.

I watched it ... the 3D was okay .... nothing great, but certainly not the worst I've ever seen either (i.e. Star Wars Episode I). At the very least, the 3D was better than expected.

How did you draw that conclusion from this thread? Most people are saying the 3D was much better than expected.

Pretty much all of the complaints you're seeing are about the 2D UHE transfer.

I know everyone can see the prices at the top on Blu-ray.com but I thought it was worth mentioning the great price on Predator 3D for $12.99 on Amazon.

Hi, all.

I don't care about the 3D, since I don't have any 3D setup. All I care is the collectable cool slipcover. My question, if I order it now, does it still guaranteed come with slipcover, since it has been release around 3 weeks?

Nothing's ever guaranteed with ordering online when it comes to slipcovers unless the listing specifically mentions it.

That said, I'd be surprised if it didn't still come with one at this point. But just pick it up in a store if you're really worried about it. Best Buy will price match Amazon.

I went in expecting to price match Amazon and it was already 12.99 there too

Picked this up at Best Buy today for $12.99. The 3D is really immersive during the brightly lit scenes, which make up for about 2/3 of the movie. Overall I had a great time with it and it upped the enjoyment level of an already great film.

I have 3 versions of Predator now.

Just watched this with my wife. I saw this when it first came out at the theatre and owned and watched it on VHS and DVD. The 3-D is so well implemented here that if you watched it without ever seeing it in 2-D you might think it was meant to be in 3-D all along.

Does anyone know what other older movies might be converted in 2014 and beyond?

I was on vacation (Tempe, Phoenix) and had a BB gift card from Christmas. I was glad to see that is was only 12.99. I had this ordered from Amazon but canceled it as it was pre-ordered for two bucks more. I have a lot of new movies but am waiting to see what shakes out from CES so I can buy a new UHD TV.

Got mine from Amazon today.

Just wondering if anyone else had an issue with the lenticular piece being misaligned on the slipcover. Mine was glued on crooked and too high, so it slightly sticks out over the top and left side of the slipcover. I'm not normally one to obsess over small imperfections, but it looks (and feels) really sloppy.

I feel silly for even considering this, but would it be crazy to do an exchange over this sort of thing?

A misaligned lenticular slip-cover would bug me too. Got mine from BestBuy and it is perfectly aligned.

I had a misaligned one on transformers that bugged me, I eventually gave in and got a replacement from walmart, they were fine about it. Strangely enough both slips were very loose on the case, where as usually they are quite snug.

Cool

The Slipcover of Predator 3D does look nice with the change to heat signals as though the Predator is looking at the slipcover.

Even though there are conversions like Jurassic Park (direct conversion) and Pacific Rim 3D (hybrid conversion) with even stronger 3D than Predator 3D (budget direct conversion), it's still nice to see a lot of Predator fans appreciate the 3D here.
