They may have been able to fit them on one disc if there weren't so many commentaries (which I like), but I can't say how much space they actually take up, so this is just an assumption.

Do we reckon Amazon will price match Best Buy's price on Monday? (I hope so).

Is BB carrying this in store nationwide on Monday? Apparently this is not in stock at any of our local locations.

I know the singles of the EE at Walmart have Hobbit money ($5). Does this boxset?

Might pick up the boxset at BB. I have $15 in RZ coupons

It's in tomorrow's ad, so they should restock tomorrow. But how many copies will they have is the question.

Each half takes up around 35-40 GBs so I am glad they didn't try and squeeze each film onto a single BD-50. It's easy to get a 3-4 hour film on a BD-50 if there's not but one or two commentaries or dub tracks. The downside is that there's no room for any extras. This is why most longer movies are two disc sets like Patton, Gandhi, LOTR, Gettysburg, etc.

I was under the impression Best Buy does not price match websites.

They are running some kind of trial thing to see how it works out I suppose. They been doing it for a month now and I believe it runs through at least January now (if you call a store, the recording will say something about price match through January. take it with a grain of salt.) even though the link below will state it runs through December 24.

ALSO... for Best Buy to match amazon.com's price, it MUST be an item sold and fullfilled by amazon. NO 3rd party sellers.

ALSO ALSO... Best Buy is NOT price matching any stores or online retailers Nov. 18th-26th

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-Top...at204400050011

Is Best Buy currently running any tests or promotions under the Price Match Guarantee?

well picked up the target excl. with no special features since i still have the dvd book packages. for the first time ever, i took blus out of their case and put them in the dvd case. im happy with the setup. those dvd packs are pretty special.

anyway, about the movie. i only watched disc 1 of fellowship, and yeah, i noticed the color and possible brightness change. i know its been discussed adnausem but just wanted to mention it. i can live with the color change but yeah the darkness is a little much. i think some detail has been lost. especially in the scene with gandolf on the tower. you cant really see the orcs chopping trees and stuff. regardless, it looks great, and from what i here each gets better.

i can live with my dvd packaging unless the box set or the new singles with gorgeous slips drop even lower, which they will eventually. oh well...just a box and a picture.

I've submitted the 'price match' form on Amazon, hoping they'll price match Best Buy @ 39.99. If others can do the same, it would be greatly appreciated (BB don't ship to the UK).

Looks like it worked:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...d_i=1000451311

LOTR set is now set to be $39.99 on Tuesday 8:20-12:20PST (Which is 4.20-8:20 for us in the UK I think ). Just wondering do you think that there will be a price cut on Amazon UK for black Friday deals?

What is the difference between these two? One is 2011 and one is 2012? Did the 2012 version fix something?

I had the 2011 version, but just bought 2 of the 2012 versions. Should I keep the 2012 version instead of reselling?

The only difference I'm aware of between the two is the ditching of the digital copies in the second release. They expired in June so the re-release from May didn't have them. From all other reports absolutely everything else is identical.
