Custom Cover Art Thread

I took a little break from cover-cobbling today to cobble together a cover:
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, my favourite graphic novel.

I rarely do personal projects nowadays, but this 2-part release desperately needed a cover to unite them.

I'll be putting this up on CustoManiacs or you can PM me for a copy.

So your the one that made that Cyborg cover lol, I had that thing for my DC and always loved it, sold it with the bd-r when I decided to get the regular version.

I found an ok scan of Cyborg I am gonna use and I was hoping for a matching set for Scooby so I will keep my eye out for that

Please, by all means! I consider your cover art much better than the official release, so if there was a way to get an alternative version of this cover with the official specs, that would be fantastic!

I am extremely new to the world of custom covers.

I have been searching for a cover that mixes Davinci Code and Angels and Demons. Has anyone come acrossed one?

I have seen some amazing covers on this site.
A few of my favorites I have seen are Goonies and Band of Brothers/Pacific cases. Awesome stuff guys. I wish I knew how to do it.

I didn't care for the Logan's Run cover sheet. Still sticking with the whte background theme to save ink but still be colorful.

If I had to nitpick the design, the title treatment could use a little more room up top on the front, and ease off a smidgen on the black stroke.

The images and synopsis bit on the back look like a (poor) scan, is that right? If so, it might be worth the effort to redo them.

Are the credits, specs and legal text also scans? From the official cover? Just inverted from black to white? Looks like you forgot to protect the Copy Protection logo, the Canada ratings and the Warner spine logo when inverting. :-)

Basically, your design is beautiful, it just needs a little more care in the execution. If you need the Warner template to work off of, just let me know.

Looks wonderful. The only thing I don't like is the "critics" review on the front cover.

Thanks for the reply and compliment. I created the cover last night. Pulled some artwork off the web. I wanted a text that might be use from the film and there doesn't seemed to be a set text. I used a different text along the spine than from the front area. I too thought the black online on the text a bit to much, but didn't change it on the version I posted. I also changed the text color to yellow.

The back data is indeed a simple scan cut and invert. I could have used a higher res scan so the detail and text would read much better. When I was doing covers for others I used much more detail. But for my own collection the first glance of the back is great and I went for the nice spine and front.

Thank you for the Warner Brother offer too. I actually have a big file of company logos and I could have pulled the WB logo, again with the lazy. apologies.

I know most of the people posting and interested in the covers here want a cover that could be used as an official cover. Right now I cam creating the covers at exactly the right sizes for the blu/DVD normal and thin cases. I use to do them at three times the size and shrink the down to maintain some incredible detail in the images and text.

For myself is using great artwork. The synopsis, cast listing and secondary film images are no longer so important. Apologies for the slouching on the back text. I understand the need for attention to detail.

Reconstructed the Logan's Run Cover. Upgraded the back for quality. Less black outline on the text. More graphics on the front side.

Here's a 2-pack I've slapped together for Westworld and Futureworld, from whatever I could Google and find on the internet...

Is it great? No. But considering I am using an ancient Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0 and I have quite meager skills... it suits my needs. If anyone does want it, PM me.
